    Toshiba C850 burned component ID?

Hello, I have a toshiba C850 (MB PLF/PLR/CSF UMA REV 1.1). It had a shorted buck controller that I will replace but there is another component that I can't identify that had got very hot and splattered solder here and there. It looks to be a transistor. The best I can make of the markings is "2150j". I don't have a schematic (the only one I could find here on Badcaps was not the same one). Is anybody able to identify this item? I've googled without luck. Hardly any of the components are labelled on the MB. I've also checked all my scrap boards to try and find the same IC but no luck. Some photos attached. Grateful for any help.

looks like some kind of power switch to that connector. so it may be transistor. but why its contacts bridged?

what component is connected by this connector?

Thanks Cyberhack for your effort but no cigar I'm afraid.

The connector adjacent to it is for the mouse button FFC connector. As to why is it bridged? I am confused to. All this happenned before I bought the laptop. I've got a bad feeling that the bridge is actually a trace wire from the motherboard that has been caught up in the drama. It was also bridged to the inductor nearby by solder flowing to it whenever the damage ocurred.
This is an expensive board to buy too, drat.

Check for similarities on similar mainboards. Here is snapshot from another inventec mainboard. I think somebody has changed the sot23 already. The component is most likely similar on many mainboards. Is the 3rd leg connected to gnd and another two to clk and data?

To make the markings easier to read, I clean the part with turps usually. Then run a white pen over it, then lightly wipe the ink off, trying to leave the ink in the laser grooves.

Thank you very much. Yes the connections are exactly what you said. I might try one from another scrap board when the buck controller arrives.

Hi Rievax. The damn thing fell on the floor never to be found again for all eternity. Khaahk's advice will help me though. Identification of components is often a problem for me so I'll remember this tip for future use.

probably too late but i also read 2150j (very small 0) on my board which is a rev 2.1 of that motherboard model.

if you want me to test that component i could probably check some pn junctions but in circuit you can't always be sure of the results..

i've got a "dead" c850 with that board, did you manage to find a schematic for it ?
it's not the inventec dakar dk10 available in many places.
