    Asus x1404za not charging

    Hi

laptop works on charger and works on battery

    pu8900 is bq24800

charge circuit Hi mosfet QH8902 was shorted from rain to source , when replaced the new mosfet got shorted immidietly when connecting charger

first and second mosfets are not shorted

When measuring voltage on the charging sense resistor the voltage fluctuate between 10.5 volt to 11.4 volt and after sometime it fixated on 3.42 volt Attached video

here is a boardview for thisasus board

    https://www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=3700551

can you gentleman's help finde the issue?

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

Measure the resistance between SRN & SRP (pins 19 & 20) directly at the charger IC. Testing if the full path resistance matches the reference design from Texas Instruments.

Hi and thanks for your help!

the resistance between 19 an 20 is 20 ohms

Looks good. Share the voltage to ground measurements for:

ACDET ; must be 2v4 or higher to enable the charger function
ACOK ; should be a logic '1' if the adapter is deemed to be ok

        on the same charger IC.

          ACOK = 6v
          ACDET=2.63v

Looks good. Attach only the pre-charged battery pack. Test if you see a voltage on the DCin mosfets. If yes, the DCin mosfets are defective. In this case, the DCin mosfets should be disabled and not allow for a reverse feed to the power adapter. Often, as per article by piernov, the 2nd DCin mosfet leaks.

battery voltage is only on the drain of the second mosfet.
before i had the leak in the second mosfet and i replace it, what else can it be?

Test with a fresh, known good battery. Perhaps the BMS on this battery pack has issues.

what do you think about the voltage fluctuation (in the attached video) in the battery charging circuit?
it happens when no battery is connected

What is the resistance to ground of ACN? Testing if there is a short in the main power rail on the board.

Test the resistance to ground of other inductors on the board.

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
                          by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

                          by amansr12
Hi, I recently open my Asus rog strix g1513 laptop to clean the fans and while disconnecting the battery there was a spark near the connector (c6000) and a capacitor (C60050 ) and the keyboard , fans stopped working and the laptop only works when charger plugged in, otherwise no. I removed the burned capacitor and the nearby caps stopped shorting but the problem didn't go away when I turned the motherboard some capacitors ( c8047 c8048 c8049 c8050 c8051 c8053 - connected to pin 25 and 57 of the u8003(ite252e248a) and c8023 c8024 c8046 connected to pin 24 ) are shorting ,,,,pin 26 is ground...

For Badcaps Readers, Please note that I am hopefully going to present this same message to Lenovo to see if they have any insight to the matter as well and figured to share the entirety here for clarification. The System is out of warranty as it is but does have the option to have it extended.

ASUS TUF Dash Motherboard FX516 REV 6.0 Model Device Not Charging
                          by lazenes
The device is not charging with the 19V 180W DC charger. If the battery is full, the laptop powers on normally. I can charge it via USB Type-C, but it’s very slow. I checked the schematics but couldn’t find a solution. I even replaced the BQ24800 battery charging IC, but the issue remains the same. I suspect a MOSFET or a fuse that I might be overlooking is preventing it from charging with the adapter. Has anyone experienced a similar fault before or has any advice?...
