I've finally bought myself a BIOS programmer XGPro TL866II Plus and am going through old donor boards and logging the BIOS's I have in stock and testing out reading and writing but having some issues with reading 1.8v BIOS's. I have bought the 1.8v adapter.
The problem is it's detecting the BIOS's but not reading them. I bought a second 1.8v adapter from a different supplier and this one has a different chip on it as seen in pic but still doesn't work.
I've attached pictures of the chip, the adapter and side views to show that it's straight and down all the way through.
I have confirmed good continuity between the legs and the pins under the SOP8 socket.
There is also continuity between each BIOS leg and various legs on the long chip on the 1.8v board but no continuity between the BIOS legs and the 1.8v legs underneath the board - I'm assuming this only happens when the 1.8v board chip allows it to pass through?
I've tried disabling the Check ID on read but it doesn't actually read any data (everything 0x00). If Check ID is on it fails (ID 00 00 00)
Voltage readings of each of the 8 pins during the read:
1) 0.06
2) 0
3) 2.45
4) GND
5) 0
6) 1.1
7) 2.45
8) 1.8
Any help or pointers in the right direction greatly appreciated.
