So my friends A2442 MacBook Pro stopped charging one day and hasn’t worked since. It wasn’t like an immediate shut off, like it worked until the battery died but now she can’t charge it so idk what to do with it.
I don’t have an ammeter (yet it’s coming soon) so idk if it’s doing anything funky with current or voltage but I know it doesn’t charge on ANY of the ports.
I took it down to the motherboard hoping to see an obviously bad component but everything looks good.
I don’t have much experience with laptops, only consoles and controllers so this is way out of my depth but it’s our senior year of Uni and she reallly needs a laptop lmao.
I'm suspecting that it's the ISL charging IC but I honestly have no idea where to begin with something like this.
NOTE: I forgot to mention but if the fix involves replacing components or chips or something I am capable of that^^
