    A2992 no battery charging

    i am completely stuck on this board , who not charging battery(battery tested ok in other logic board).
    SMBUS_BATT_SDA, SCL : 1.8V no oscillation. diode 0.5
    SYS_DETECT_L = 0V
    CHGR_RST_IN 0V
    DISP = 0V
    ppvbat_AON 12V

    pulup resisiatnce SMBUS_BATT_SCL./SDA : 3.3Kohm
    I2C_SMC_PWR_SCL /SDA = 1.2V no oscillation ,
    UD102 changed
    battery connector are ok
    i am stuck .
    if you have an idea...

    Has the LCD been replaced or is the original? Do you have True Tone feature?

        Earlier this year - the Mx series had a LCD fault where the replacement screens would cause the charging to fail. Attach the LCD to test if the issue is resolved while using the display.

            And regarding my voltage measurements, is there anything bad?
            CHGR_RST_IN 0V is normal ?

              Test the voltages on U7440 (Silego component).

              Is there PP1V8_AON on U7440, pin #1 ?

              Does PMU_ONOFF_L pulse when the ON/OFF button pads are shorted? Then confirm the same for PMU_ONOFF_R_L.

              The output of CHGR_RST_IN (pin 10 on U7440) should also pulse with this activity. Follow the pulsing to the output of PMU_SHDN signal.

              To me, this is the ON/OFF logic board signal path.

                hi , i already investigate U7440 .
                i have changed the component.
                here measurement:
                PP1V8_AON = 1.8V
                PMU_ONOFF_L : 1.8 v and pulse at power ON/OFF
                PMU_ONOFF_R_L : 1.8v and pulse during off
                CHGR_RST_IN = 0V and no pulse.
                PMU_SHDN = 0V and no pulse.
                i will resolder u7440

                  i make a mistake on my measurement on PPVBAT_AON : 1V with small oscilation to 0.5V.
                  PPVBAT_AON_CHGR_R = 12V
                  CHGR_BGATE = 12V
                  CHGR_BGATE need to be 0V for mosfet Q5265

                    I2C_SMC_PWR_1V8_SCL / SDA were stuck at 1.8 V with no oscillation.
                    I checked I2C_SMC_PWR_SCL / SDA before UD1021.2 V with small oscillation.
                    I connected the oscilloscope and saw signal activity on I2C_SMC_PWR_SCL, but nothing on I2C_SMC_PWR_1V8_SCL / SDA.
                    After replacing UD102 driver, now it works correctly and the battery is charging.
                    another tricky board brought back to life! 💪😎

                      You had replaced UD102 mentioned in the first post. It was replaced again or just needed a reflow?

                        right , i have replaced ud102 , without checking the oscilation on SCL, only SDA , chip was not working on SCL or bad soldering.
                        i have check second time and see the communication problem.
                        thanks for you reply. this board got a big liquid damage on keyboard , trackpad connector ,battery was shorted and dead.
                        now everything is working.

                          Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                          by Bowline
                          My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

                          Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

                          My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
                          The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
                          I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

                          HP ProBook 445 G8 Battery not charging
                          by Julian Bailey
                          Hi all

                          We have in a HP ProBook 445 G8 laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 CPU. When power is connected the power LED light blinks 5 times then stops. Normally HP laptops will blink this LED 10 times as it does a self test when the AC adaptor is inserted. So there must be some sort of short somewhere.

                          The battery doesn't charge, and is erratic on the MM voltage. Bench PSU LED pulsates when the battery is connected also. So the fault must be on the charging circuit?

                          I have gone around the board with a MM and cant find anything

                          Windows shows the battery fine,...

                          1. Some theory
                          1.1. Introduction
                          Almost every laptop has a charging circuit of some sort, that does a few things:
                          • Manages switching between AC adapter and battery power
                          • Manages battery charging and generates power rail to charge battery

                          There are 2 different designs to handle switching between AC adapter and battery power and feeding the system:
                          • Hybrid power boost (HPB) and traditional circuits without power boost (see Warning in HPB section)
                          • Narrow VDC (NVDC)

                          Texas instrument has a nice overview of these technologies with some more details at https:...

                          since i couldn't find schematic or boardview for this model (LA-K062P), i use closest board model found here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-and-boardview

                          the schematic share same marking for each component, using same PD-Controller, same BQ25710, the only different is the battery cell used. LA-K061P uses 3S battery while LA-K062P use 4S battery per schematic.

                          Hey All!

                          Long time forum member here with a problematic laptop issue!

                          I got a RZ09-0196 with a bloated battery (still worked and charged fine) I pulled the old cell pack out and installed a new cell pack in its place.

                          The laptop would not power on with the new battery installed without the power supply being plugged in.

                          When booting into Win10 (all up to date BTW) I saw the battery icon with 49% plugged in not charging.

                          TL;Dr version, old battery worked, charged but was bloated, installed a new non OEM replacement, laptop/windows...
