    macbook pro 820-02100 5v 0 amp

Unit came to me and customer said they spilled liquid on it. Opened unit and inspected board and saw no signs on liquid reaching the board. Plugged in amp meter and it pulled 20v and booted normally, i connected to internet and ran update on the OS. Came in the next day to test again to make sure unit was functional, now its stuck at 5v and 0 amps no power, no shorts found on so far.

    Tested all CD3217 and RAA489900:
    UF400
    PP3v3_UPC0_LDO- 3.48v, .473 Diode
    PP1v5_UPC0_LDO_CORE- 1.59v, .504 Diode
    USBC0_CC1- 0v, .455 Diode
    USBC0_CC2- 1.66v, .454 Diode

    UF500
    PP3v3_UPC0_LDO- 3.43v, .474 Diode
    PP1v5_UPC0_LDO_CORE- 1.58v, .507 Diode
    USBC0_CC1- 0v, .451 Diode
    USBC0_CC2- 1.64v, .451 Diode

    UG400
    PP3v3_UPC0_LDO- 3.47v, .470 Diode
    PP1v5_UPC0_LDO_CORE- 1.59v, .506 Diode
    USBC0_CC1- 0v, .454 Diode
    USBC0_CC2- 1.66v, .454 Diode

    U5200
    P_IN- 5.18v
    AUX_DET- .85v
    AMON- 0.0v
    BMON-0.0v
    AUX_OK= 1.76v
    SMC_RST- 0.0v
    BGATE- 12.34v

All of these look normal to me and im not sure where to go next? MPMU?

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

Measure the resistance to ground of PP1V8_S2_CHGR.

          PP1V8_S2_CHGR- (20k) 4.3, Red on ground

Is S2 voltages supposed to be present when just plugged in?

No. Just checking if there is a local shorted cap on this rail - had one in the shop where the local 1uf was shorted.

Check your battery of your meter. The measurements are off.

3v3 is being measured as 3v48

Concerned about 4v5 which should be 5v.

Remove all power -> meter in resistance mode. Measure the resistance across C5220. Checking the full path resistance of the input to the regulator @ U5200. What is the resistance in ohms?

I just changed the battery in the meter about a week ago.

Touch your meter probes together. What is the resistance?

                  CHGR_AUX_DET = AUX_DET is low @ 0v85

What is the resistance to ground of PPDCIN_AON_CHGR?

                    On 200 its .4

on the RAA489900, are the A4 and A6 versions of this chip compatible?

PPDCIN_AON_CHGR- (200K) 71.9, this number started lower and kept moving up to this reading until it stopped.

Not sure on the compatibility list.

What is the voltage to ground of PPDCIN_USBC_AON? This should be @ 5v. Same voltage should be present on each side of C5220. Confirm it.

After i apply power to the board and take that reading, i removed power and checked diode mode on the large tantalum caps for this line and the meter started negative with a beep and rose from negative value to positive value .445, also when i do ohms scale at 20k the value goes from ~8 to 12.2. Is this normal or the caps just filling up with charge?

Remove all power. Measure the resistance across R8101.

Measure the resistance to ground of:

I believe that you still have residue charge on the board. Suggest to allow ample time between these tests to truly discharge all energy from the board. Then proceed to test resistance or diode mode.

Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

The led strips has 9 6V leds.

Hello everybody☺️ I am glad to be here and looking forward to a good discussion.

First of all, I am new here. Therefore I will shortly introduce myself.
I am Nico and currently I study Physics.
In my freetime I like to build and repair stuff. Especially big battery's.

A few years ago I got myself an electric unicycle, monowheel or however you call that.
The battery bms was broken so I replaced and resolder that. Nothing big.
I used this thing for some years and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I used it last time in heavy rain. Usually everything...

                                          NO BODY MARKING Diode
                                          by dennis_elx33
                                          Hello Everyone,
I have 1 diode on a circuit that I suspected to be faulty because the forward and reverse bias has a voltage drop reading.
While compared to the reading of another diode from the next channel it won't read at reverse bias.
Now the problem is; it does not have any body marking.
So I tried to sketch the diagram and found out that it is connected to the base and collector of the C3632 transistor.
What do you think is this diode?
Can you please suggest what part number can i use to replace this faulty diode instead?

                                          Hoping that you...

I was looking at an old battery powered electric lawnmower I picked up as the previous owner didn't want to buy a new board to replace a ruined old board. Tried to study how it was designed - it appears it has a huge 80A contactor...or rather, a 80A relay. It appears to be SPDT to control the motor. A 30A relay protects the circuitry.

The weird thing I don't quite get is how this thing is connected. The common contact is connected to the motor. The NO contact is connected to the battery, which is expected, so when the relay is activated, the common is connected to the NO contact and...
