the laptop uses a 200w charger. i can trick the battery to charge by repeatedly unplugging and plugging in the charger until the voltage on the battery terminal goes high enough. The laptop will not power on while the charger is plugged in.. The only thing i see that is strange is the gate on the charging mosfets is 24 volts even though the charger is only 20 volts

The fate of dc in mosfet should be 25V approx for a N channel mosfet. So nothing strange here.
What is the AD_ID voltage when you connect charger. DC jack light glows?MB charges battery? -
the ad_id is 1.56v using the original 200w charger. It charges the battery and the light on the jack works but the board won't power up while the charger is plugged in. the power button indicator only comes on for a split second. It works fine on the battery and i can charge the battery while the laptop is on but if i restart it with the charger connected then it cuts offComment

found a resistor missing for the gpu rail +0.95V. regulator. Apparently TON1V is necessary when using the charger but not necessary when using the batteryComment

Hi everyone, I have an issue with an ASUS Laptop model K553E. It will power on when no charger is plugged in, but when the charger is pluged in and is in an off stte it wount turn on.
I tried another keyboard and it has the same problem ruled out the battery checked the voltages at the buck converters getting normal 5 v and 3.3V nothing is running hot. the machine runs perfectly. any ideas as to what might be causing this? -

I´ve this Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15IAN8 with mainboard (KS480 / KS580) NM-E901 Rev 1.0
I receive it for repair from another shop and it had shorted EC IT8227VG-256
After replacing it and programming it with SVOD 4 (wich is new to me as I bought it in this week) the laptop is working fine now... BUT
Once power off from windows, it will not turn on again. When off and the power on button is pressed, a white led turns on and that´s it.
But if you plug the charger, then all the keyboard LEDs will lit and then you get image on screen and it boots normally.... -
For Badcaps Readers, Please note that I am hopefully going to present this same message to Lenovo to see if they have any insight to the matter as well and figured to share the entirety here for clarification. The System is out of warranty as it is but does have the option to have it extended.

I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange).
