Hello everyone. It works very slowly and the fan spins very fast. The touchpad was flooded. I replaced it but the MacBook is still very slow and the fan spins at high speed. Resetting and bypassing SMС does not help! Please tell me what to look for.

I installed the board in another case but the problem remained. I suspect that the problem is somewhere in the smc. The board is in perfect condition, there are no signs of moisture.Comment

Measure the voltage to ground for the following pins:
I2C_THMSNS_SCL_R1
I2C_THMSNS_SDA_R1
I2C_THMSNS_SCL_R2
I2C_THMSNS_SDA_R2
The above SMBUS pins lead to the actual thermal sensors themselves which must be inspected.

Each of the thermal controllers (above) are linked to individual transistors that must also be reviewed. If any of the above parts / communication lines are missing, you will have the observed result.Comment

by mferna14Hi friends., I am working on MacBook Pro A2159 touchbar 2019. The old logic board was liquid spilled so I ordered another logic board from AE. Received it & all worked fine till I got to the Chinese login screen where the login screen password tobe entered. I tried to reset the password but it again gave me options which I do not know about the Apple ID. I formatted the onboard SSD. & wanted to change the startup boot sequence but in order to change it, again the password is needed for that too. Is there a way to get rid of this password?? The seller has not replied back past 2 days, how...05-13-2025, 04:16 PM

by awe126Hello all,
I bought a Macbook Pro 16" M1 Pro, A2485, 820-02100, which working flawlessly but not charging. I thought battery needs to be replaced but then started reading and it seems that problem will be in motherboard.
Battery sign has cross sign and MacOS can't read battery stats. Fans are full speed but can be set down via Fancontrol software.
I did start digging into in and found out below:
Diode mode:
SMBUS_BATT_SCL: 0.529
SMBUS_BATT_SDA: 0
SMBUS_BATT_SCL: 1.795V
SMBUS_BATT_SDA: 0.948V
Can anyone help... -
by envymHi everyone!
I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.
I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...06-27-2025, 08:54 AM -
by kleungI wanted to add to the knowledge base about a PWM case fan that it can fail at 100% speed.
On my Dell ultra 7070 (this is a 0.6 L pc so uses laptop parts); I had the case fan suddenly go 100% and I couldn't control it. I disconnected/reset bios and it was only solved when I swapped in a replacement fan.
I have tested and there is continuity between the 4 wires pins and the circuit board.
That is the extent of my troubleshooting. I took pictures of the circuit board but don't know what component would die (PWM controller?) that could cause this to happen....2 Photos - Loading...
