    ACER 8930g no picture

    Hello everybody,

Need your help with this one. I received it with problem no picture. Indeed it didn't have picture on the panel but on external monitor it had picture with vertical lines. I changed the chipset of the vga card and now I have backlight, I can see that the lcd is trying to produce picture but with no result. On external monitor I have perfect picture now. I have managed to do a BIOS update from windows so the device is booting normally. Any ideas why it doesn't have picture? On the panel's connector I have all the voltages according to its schematic.
    Any help will be great.

Forgot to mention that the motherboard has a nec tokin super capacitor but I doubt the problem is from this one.

It has a separate small board for the vga that's why I think that the problem is located on the main board.

          Which voltages do you have?
What is the version of your board?

The panel is LTN184HT01-A02 and on its connector I can measure the power voltages from the datasheet.
            The board is 6050A2251701-MB-A02

Do you have any voltage on the data signals?

Do you want on any pin specifically?
Because it is a little pain to open again the panel.
                Thanks

You can check on pins 12,14,15,17,18,20,21,23,24,26,27,29,30,32,33,35,36 of the LVDS connector on the board

Guys thanks a lot for you help. Took some closer look on the vga board and found out that on one transistor's pin the pad was broken. Rebuilt the line and now works like a charm!

How to force Acer Aspire Series to bootup BIOS/UEFI on external Monitor?
                      by maralexbar
I ask this question in general as there are many Acer Aspire models with UEFI Insyde BIOS that do not boot to the BIOS on an external monitor (VGA, HDMI, etc) showing only the Internal LCD (LVDS, eDP etc).
It's a pain to work on Acer notebooks with a broken screen and not being able to access the BIOS using an external monitor.

If anyone knows how to force the external monitor as primary for Notebooks of those models

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54. displays on the external monitor and works fine, the issue is NO display on the internal screen
                      by DqMagetz
                      Good day!
I have a customer's laptop — Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 (EH5VF - LA-H501P). It has a display on the external monitor and it's working fine, but the issue is NO display on the internal screen. I already replaced the eDP cable and checked the LCD connector pins.

                      Here are the voltage readings:
                      • Input – 19V (stable)
                      • +LCDVDD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
                      • EDP_HPD – 3.3V briefly, then drops to 0V
                      • PCH_BKL_PWM – 2.2–5V briefly, then drops to 0V
                      • EC BKOFF# – 1.8V briefly, then drops to 0V
                      • PANEL_OD_EN – 0.3V

Is it possible that the EC chip is corrupted or damag...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
                      by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Philips 243v5lhsb00 Monitor Picture too bright
                      by Schwoin
                      Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.
                      ...
