Toshiba Satellite C640 No Power Need Help

    Hello to all badcaps forums.

I am working on this laptop friend of mine, Toshiba Satellite C640 PSC2SL-017006.

Its been more than a week now to figure out what wrong with this laptop. Plug in the power adapter (voltage tested -pass) but no light from the power led. I disassemble it and I found out that a small chip get really hot (I attached pics).

The thing is, my friend use his laptop on the bed causing the ventilation blocked. And now the cost to repair it, it's like to buy a new laptop.

So any suggestions from the "MASTERS a.k.a SIFOO" of badcaps forum.

Sorry for my bad English. Thanks in advance.

May the CURRENT be with you!!!!

that 51123 its actually TPS51123 a Step-Down Controller that provides the VREG output.

you can see a DOT on the chip.
start anti-clockwise and measure the value with adapter on.
BEWARE! of the probes. Slow and don`t move the probes
Just cook it! It's already broken.

One more question, is it possible to replace the chip, or does the chip is ok and the culprit is other caps?

I'm a noob, I confess first. Any guides is appreciated.

        Thanks.

              OK BOSS!!!

My multimeter probe quite thick. Is it dangerous if I accidentally short between the pins?
