    MS-14C4 unusual chip

This laptop was brought in with no power and had been worked on in another country and they hadn't been successful. The battery and CMOS chip was disconnected.

I plugged it in and checked the thermal camera and one chip (TPS62134CRGTR) was glowing near the battery connector. I removed the chip only to find that it looked like it never belonged there in the first place. Is there something I'm missing here or has the previous shop replaced a completely different chip?

looks like they replace it with a different chip.... maybe it's a 3v-5V buck converter like TPS1225 or equivalent

Before soldering a new tps1285, measure resistance to GND on 3V LDO and 5V LDO pin so as not to fry the new chip.
