    [HELP] 820-3437 SEMI DEAD!

    i! i don't know the history of ths motherboard...i need help.

    PP3V42_G3H present 3,42v

    i have green light as soon as i connect power supply, that become orange

    diode mode on ppbus_g3h is ok
    pp5v / 3v _s5 present

    I'm pretty sure that smc was changed before trying to fix the problem

    spirom_use_mlb and pm_pwrbtn are 0v also pm_bat_low_l.

    SMC_BATLOW_L still low in bypass mode
    3V3_SUS not present

    AT THE MOMENT, I'M USING BY-3200S ​

    SMC_BATLOW_L should not be low. If low, logic board does not like your power adapter. Test with the official one for this box.

      tried with another smc

      tried with original magsafe 2 60w...still the same

        What is the voltage to ground of PPBUS_G3H? Is it stable or cycling?

              after changing smc, i have ppbus_g3h at 8,58...SMC_BATLOW_L​ stiill 0v

                If you have a stable ppbus_G3H = 8v58 then the SMC is working since the voltage on ppbus_G3H has been boosted.

                In my schematic, there is no SMC_BATLOW_L but there is a PM_BATLOW_L.

                For PM_BATLOW_L, confirm the presence of the pull-up resistor. Confirm the high side voltage of the resistor @ R1410.

                    Test the voltage on resistor R1410 but the pin that mates with PP3V3_S5. There must be a stable voltage of 3v3 here for this signal to be parked to the logic '1' state. Easier to test both sides of R1410 for a voltage.

                                What is the voltage to ground on each side of L5001?

                                Remove all power. Measure the resistance to ground of PP3V3_S5_REG_R rail @ L7560. Something is wrong with this rail since the enable for the power rail is OK and this rail should enable.

                                      Attempt to measure the voltage on this same rail @ L7560 but on immediate power up. Also, is P3V3S5_EN_R always enabled and is stable?

                                        Just saw your post - excellent!!

                                        So the current loop circuit was broken and this half of the regulator was powering OFF because it felt the voltage was being created but tanked to 0v (due to the missing loop voltage) = assumed the load was too much so power it off.

                                          i have power led and battery led when i connect the charger.

                                          I have a problem with this laptop that won't turn on.
                                          The +VCORE is not present and doing some measurements on the ISL95859 I notice this:

                                          VIN present 19.5V
                                          VCC present 5V
                                          VR_ENABLE present 3.3V
                                          PWM_A present 2.5V
                                          FCCM_A not present
                                          PWM1_B present 2.5V
                                          PWM2_B present 2.5V
                                          FCCM_B not present
                                          PWM_C present 0.32V
                                          FCCM_C present 5V

                                          In these conditions should the ISL95859 works and therefore enable the FCCM_A and FCCM_B pins or do I have to check other lines for it to be enabled?

                                          hello guys,

                                          i need help to repair a edm-033 ps2
                                          history : as always hdmi port and usb ports destroyed after unplugged
                                          after change them, ps5 dead too : 1 beep, no blue light. after inspection 1.8v power was shorted, and because of dead panasonic chip. after remove it : no short anymore
                                          so i changed it
                                          now i have got 5v stby,, 3.3v stby, 3.3v power, 1.8v power and no short on them
                                          but the ps5 is dead again : 1 beep, near 10 seconds with power lines and then off, no blue light ...

                                          i don't see any projection of liquid metal on pcb.

                                          Hi guys!
                                          I searched for the term "dead short" in the forum but no specific thread came up however if I'm just blind and couldn't see the thread talking about this please forward me to that direction.
                                          So my problem is I don't know how to find the source of a dead shorted voltage rail. Dead short = ~0 ohm resistance.
                                          I have two VGAs (HD 4850 and HD 4870), both dead shorted to ground on the memory rail. I have the boardview file for the 4870 and the memory rail consists around ~7892346 capacitors...
                                          I have a bench PSU and if I try to inject voltage the voltage...

                                          Hello everyone hope all doing well!
                                          I have this PSU (GPS450-AA delta oem) around for like 4-5 years and I had it recapped early 2020 or 2021 with mostly UCC KY and Nichicon PW's. The bulk was and still is fine, the original Ltec's were bloated and empty. The previous issue was some major coil whine noise and at times random shutdowns when going idle. Today it started tripping the mains breaker and I think I have dead APFC mosfets (20N60C3). Right now upon checking I have the Q1 and Q3 FETs dead so far and I guess those are responsible for the PFC circuit. The only thing I care is If there...
