Re: Novatech A15A
You need to check pwr button signal @ SIO pin...If it goes low & doesn't turn on it may be faulty...Without schematics, datasheet and power sequence it would be pain in the arse...Also your 5V alws (if it is 5V alws) power is fluctating...Comment

by NevilletHi All,
I have a laptop with only 1 of the 4 USB sockets/jacks working.
The laptop is by a UK supplier called Novatech and the product number is W950BU. I have a USB tester that displays voltage and current and the 3 sockets that do not work have no power (and don't recognise anything plugged in to them either)
There are 2 sockets on the motherboard that don't work and 2 on a daughter board, one of which does work.
Using the Speccy application here is a hardware summary:

I can get an EC in Argentina that is practically the same, just change the letter L with E. Does anyone know the meaning of each letter? Question for experts hehe05-31-2022, 09:42 AM

by CharleydWhen plugged in, Vizio V585-H11 powers up, the standby light flashes 18 times, but there is simply no image on the screen. I can see a glow from the backlights, and the sound works. Tearing in to it, all voltages coming out of the Power Supply appear reasonable. I suspect a bad panel, so I disconnect one of the two wide ribbon cables between the T-Con board and the panel. Now the TV starts up fine without the 18 flashes, and with a good image on 1/2 of the screen. If I switch to the other ribbon cable, the TV again starts up fine, but now with a good image on the other 1/2 of the screen. Still...

by TopcatJust a happy ending to this issue & thread... https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=104086
The laptop had BIOS 210 on it, I updated it to 303, and the black screen upon restart is fixed!! The seat of my pants from the original post just felt it was a firmware issue....it's now cured, and also learned the true make of this goofy laptop.
It's always great when I can ask my own forum for assistance, you fellas are the best!
I also attached the BIOS v303 to this thread incase anyone down the road runs into this....since the 'technopat'...-
