Asus A52JE-EX209V no display

i have an Asus A52JE-EX209V laptop, with no display on lcd and external.
the owner said he flashed the bios and then get black screen so i re-programmed the bios but that didn't help.

i checked vga connector and i found 3.3v on hsync and vsync, but no other voltages (red , geen, blue etc....)
checked voltage on coils to cpu and found 0.8v

i can`t find a schematic of mainboard .it is asus k52jr mainboard.
is there anything i can check. i was thinking of reflowing gpu

Hi mate, What CPU does this Laptop has? Should be Intel i series if it is the 1st generation CPU then try to swap with working one and check for Display.

New generation Motherboards has switching Graphics so always good to check all easy one first. Good Luck!

it has Intel Core i3-330M cpu.
the cpu has intel hd graphics in it and also an ati radeon hd5470 gpu on mainboard.
what is switching graphics? and can someone explain how the display works?
i mean when turning on laptop it uses the graphics built in cpu? then when OS is loading and driver is installed it is using the radeon gpu?

Hi anno,

Intel i series 1st generation CPU's can fail easily. Try swapping with new or working CPU and check the display before replacing or doing any replacement.

"Switching graphics : The Intel cpu has inbuilt graphics processor (low end) along with you dedicated GPU (high end) - The system will switch between both graphics according to the requirement to save power"

i tryed my cpu in another i3 laptop and is was working. so my cpu is fine. is there anything else what i can try?

If the owner did not lie, then the problem is in bios. Where did you take the bios from? Upload original dump for comparison.

i programmed the bios from a file from asus website. should be ok

is it possible the bios chip is bad? is there a way to test this? i still not fixed the laptop

I dont think u can write a bios chip which is defective.

if bios is bad notebook shouldn't start right ?

it may be northbridge problem.... but just suppose that as i had a similar configuration (see hp g62 i had ) it has i3 cpu, hd5470 and problem was northbridge.
let's wait for other opinion

Can you do a slight reflow on it and inform us back your results?
I think that the problem is there. Can you also tell us the northbridge's number of the chipset?

if gpu coil is not shorted i think is more northbridge problem.
