    IPAD 6 (2018) A1893 No power

    Hi all,
I'm trying to fix an IPAD 6, 2018, A1893 WIFI.
It does not turn on and does not enter recovery or dfu mode.

    History
The device was working before, but did intermittently reset.
    I gathered two panic logs:
"panicString" : "Attempting to forcibly halt cpu 0\ncpu 0 failed to halt with error -5: halt not supported for this configuration
"panicString" : "panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff020e14724): nvme: "AppleEmbeddedNVMeController. Controller fatal bit set. Write.

I attempted an IOS update to the newest available version using 3u tools. According to 3u tools, the update was completed, but the device never turned on again.

    Current state
I removed the main board from the housing.
When connecting the device to a dc power supply at 4V, the current draw at the battery connector (battery disconnected) is 800µA, when pressing the power button the current draw changes to about 20mA.
When additionally connecting to a charger, the current draw at the power supply drops to 0. My USB ammeter does not show any current draw, but I assume the current is supplied by the charger.

The supply voltages at the A10 SOC are all in range as specified in the schematic, with the only exception of PPVDD_GPU and PPVDD_GPU_SRAM being 0 V. This is the case with only dc power supply, only charger or both connected.
There is no SPI or I2C communication to the PMU or TRISTAR.

When connecting the tamarin cable, there is communication with the tristar and a reset can be triggered (RESET_TS_TO_SYSTEM is pulled low for several 100th ms).

    Assumptions (based on my measurements)
The TRISTAR and the PMU are ok.
The A10 is not executing software (for whatever reason)

    Questions
    - Is the missing GPU voltage a problem during initial boot sequence?
    - What signals should I check?
    - What problem is most likely given the history (A10 solder connection issue, NAND defect, ...)?

Any infos, hints or insights are appreciated.

    Hi,
    Can you check your PPVDD_ACC?
In my case this LDO is missing.
    I guess it's a Tristar issuers.
    I am going replace it.

The prices for USB-C and Lightning ports are dropping like flies. Recommend to seek out a quick tester to confirm if the tristar is truly defective.

The latest one we have sourced is this model:

(not yet tested but looks very well built)

Apple iPad Air 2 (A1566) - Seems to be power cycling, no display, new battery/Tristar
              by Aimbit
Using an ammeter, original battery was only taking 90mA or so... then down to 0, up to 90mA, down to 0, etc, in a repeatable pattern. This iPad was very old, so first thing I did was swap the battery for a good one, and it came pre-charged. The old battery had negligible voltage.

Now the iPad go up to about 1.5-1.6amps charge, then it drops to 0 after a few seconds... rinse/repeat as before. I tried changing the Tristar chip to see if that would help (and also my first real BGA chip!) but it seems to make no difference. Where should I look next?

              I should poke around the...

I tried searching the forum for whether this has been uploaded already, but couldn't find them (as a collection).
Here's a dump of a bunch of iPads, I've split into 2 archives to get under file limit

              A2197 / Ipad 7th Gen / 2019 - No Power / Low Current Draw
              by willis6732
              Hello,

Ive been working on this ipad for a little while now. CPU reballing is a common issue needed on this model.

I wanted to try and verify there is not a PMIC Problem before reballing the CPU.

Powering 4.2V at the battery gives a 0-1ma Draw
Pressing the power button it jumps to 18+ma and settle at 15ma

Ive attached my Readings for many of the power rails.
THis is how the columns are layed out:
Ohms/ Diode / Voltage After power button Press / Injecting Voltage Reading

              iPad 6th gen A1893
              by MaineFix
              Hi everyone,
I'm looking for the board view and schematics for A1893 cellular iPad 6.
I removed the motherboard and did a charging port replacement on the device and and I put it back together the power button works but not the volume buttons. I then replaced the power/volume flex and this didn't have any affect on fixing the issue. Is there anything you would suggest? The client also didn't mention anything about this when it was dropped off.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated thank you.
