    A2289 (820-01987) 3v3_G3H_RTC

As always with nearly every T2 board, board is squeaky clean.. 3v3_G3H_RTC had a short..
Of course in TPS chip.. I replaced it..
Found another short in 3v3_G3H_RTC in SoC PMU; replaced..

Board was taking 5v 0.40a on one port and another port is erratic.. ammeter turns on and off.. In thermal camera found TBT ROM was getting warm up to 38c.. PP3V3_UPC_XB_LDO had low diode mode reading..
Replaced TBT ROM from another known-good A2289..

Now board switches to 20v and consumes low wattage.. gets into DFU revives and restores successfully without errors..

But nothing on screen.. only the trackpad is clicking..

I put the board under the thermal cam again, found U8510 heating.. tested the pads and found SMCRST_TIEOFF almost direct short to ground instead of 0.721 in diode mode..

No caps lock toggle.. nothing on external monitor.. put the board again under the thermal cam.. PMU, T2, TPS are all getting warm which is normal.. I found wifi chip around 31c.. idk if it has anything to do with the issue..

PMU bucks are present.. 5v G3s present.. 1.8v G3S present.. SSD rails available and stable.. no volt in CPU coils

Hate this machine hate this model hate all T2sssssssssss

What is the voltage to ground of PPBUS_G3H @ F7000? If you can DFU, this is a good start. Is the PPBUS_G3H stable or power cycling?

What is the current draw of the 20v from the power adapter? The power adapter is suitable to power this unit? Always suggest 100W rated USB C adapters with 100W rated (or higher) USB C cabling - if not using the original OEM adapter by Apple (no clones).

Using Apple Original 96W power adapter ofc.

              Power draw:
              After it switches to 20v
Amp consumption goes into a pattern:
              0.11 > 0.22 > 0.14 > 0.23 > 0.43 (just for a sec) then drops > 0.11 > then to 0.06 and stays there

Suggest to test each inductor - the resistance to ground.

                Is this your case?

I went on each inductor all around the board.. no shorts found..

I will look into that article tomorrow cause I'm leaving in a bit, although it does not quite match my board's symptoms but nevertheless, worth the shot.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Samsung UN55H8000AF - No Picture, Working Backlight, Replaced T-Con Board
                      by ermals
                      Hi all!
I've recently run into an issue with my Samsung UN55H8000AF LED TV displaying no image. I've done quite a bit of research in terms of what could be wrong with it. Below are the steps I've taken prior to reaching out here for some assistance:

                      1. I've tried replacing the T-Con board (BN95-01594A), twice and have still experienced the same issue with all the boards I've tested with.
                      2. I've tried to remove one side of the ribbon cable that goes from the T-Con board to the panel and still not getting any image on left or right side.
                      3. I've checked voltages...

                      Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?
                      by jb_Bak
Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board

                      Pin 01 NC
                      Pin 02 NC
                      Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                      Pin 04 "N/C"
                      Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                      Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                      Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
                      by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
