HP 13-AD017NC, no POST, LED OK

    Hi guys,

I've got HP 13-AD017NC board 6050A2919201-MB-A01, not POSTing,
    • some voltages are present, see attachment
    • no direct short
    • no USB activity
    • LED is on
    • power button shorts to ground OK
    • no fan spin
    • CPU is warm, GPU stone cold

    what do you think?
haven't tried the BIOS flash, not sure where the chip is
    may be the SIO chip?

    thanks

oh, the PCH is getting hot when the board is powered
also, as mcplslg123 mentioned here, the 1R4 to ground at 1V rail is "considered too low indicating perhaps towards a shorted PCH"

      Model: Dell G15 Ryzen Edition
      Board: GDL LA-K454P
      Symptoms:
      • Board powers on (consumption ~0.5A), but no boot or display.
      • Fans spin briefly, keyboard backlight turns on, then fans stop.
      • Can be shut down via power button (EC active).
      • No POST, no BIOS splash, no backlight.
      • Led is blinking 2 orange 1 white

Apple 820-3662 VCore shorted to ground.
      by barry101
      Hi, Would appreciate some help.
I have an Apple Late 2013 15" A1398 MacBook Pro with Logic Board 820-3662.
Get charger light but no fan spin or chime. No liquid damage.
Found PPBUS and VCORE both shorted to ground. Other rails were ok.
Removed VCORE MOSFETS U7310, U7320 and U7330. Found U7330 was in fact shorted.
With the 3 MOSFETS removed, get PPBUS and fan spin. VCORE is still hard shorted to ground (0 ohms).
Attempted voltage insertion on VCORE to locate short using bench supply set at 1.0 VDC and 4.95 Amps (max current for my...

      TAOGLAS ANTENNA MODEL: ISPC.86A.09.0092E

      The specs says ...
High antenna efficiency 868MHz ISM Band
5dBi Peak (when placed on 30cm x30cm ground plane) - Broadside to Zenith Radiation Pattern

The antenna is 50x50 mm square and How do I fix it on the Ground Plane of 300 x 300 mm (aluminium sheet 3mm thick).

      1. Should I Fix it with a glue.
      2. Should I fix it with a double side adhesive tape
      3. Should I fix it with Screws (the screw head may just clamp the antenna to the aluminium...

Xbox One Controller - Phantom stick activity (sticks completely uninstalled)
      by Aimbit
      Hi All,

I bought some used Xbox one controllers "as is/untested" and they both have the same issue. The joysticks go wild for no reason while plugged in.

      https://youtube.com/shorts/YTYtjUPkBX0?feature=share

I removed both joysticks assuming it was an issue with the sticks, but the video posted here is the activity of the sticks with no sticks installed! My only guess is one of the tiny IC's that reads the inputs is broken. There are two small ones near either joystick, and then one larger one. I found a replacement on Aliexpress for the larger one...

Dell Laptop - over 14V between Chassis Ground and Circuit Ground?
      by Rolin
Someone brought me a Dell laptop that had a loose power jack inside (power jack on a cable, not soldered to motherboard). Once disassembled found one of the wires was broken off the power jack. I replaced the jack and it won't turn on, but the metal shell of the jack inadvertently touched the metal hinge and suddenly it got power. I checked voltage from the metal chassis ground and the circuit ground and I get over 14V ? Has anyone seen this before? Typically is it some kind of filter cap that shorted? Very strange...
