    Ir reball machine seems cheap

This machine looks too cheap to be any good but I am tempted to buy it as a hobbyist. Would the guys here who do this type of repair have a look at it and let me know what you think, please. My plan is to repair some of the grsphics chips of the DV series HP laptops and so on.
It says the plates are from Germany - Elstein. It has a heating area of 80mmx80mm - that should be enough for the chips that I want to do. The price is $US170 plus freight. It's here

In my usual suspicious and pessimistic outlook I think There's got to be something wrong................

Looks good for that price but there are scammers on those Chinese wholesale sites and that particular seller has no feedback yet.

I don't think I'd believe the 'Made in Germany' line either...

I've bought hundreds of items from Aliexpress and got ripped off once. Even so I got a full refund for the item. ............Just trying to convince myself it's OK.

too low for that price. one elstein plate is about 80€ at least.... on ebay, same machine is 650€ from germany or from china.

for that price however it's a great value bga rework station!!!!

Too true. I can see the same model for hundreds of dollars more on Aliexpress. It must be a mistake, a digit left of the front perhaps. Anyway, I've emailed the supplier. We'll see what he says.

Is it just me or there's something wrong with the page. When I click on product details it reverts on badcaps. But anyway, beware on aliexpress. I had 4 bad experiences with them even if the seller has good feedbacks. Having a refund is not ok, specially when we have time limits for the repairs. Still their fault if the item arrives DOA. This is just based on my experience with them.

Sorry, the link is screwed somehow. If you click on this one it should work http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Facto...767645691.html or if you click on the blue heading about the machine (the one that starts with "factory sale") in the original link, that should also be OK.

No reply as yet so I guess it must be a mistake or scam.

I'd avoid buying it, its shouting out "don't buy me !"

Elstein heaters are indeed made by a German company and very high quality (used them myself). But as far as the heaters in this particular machine being "genuine" for this low of a price... I don't know. Either a mistake in the price or a scam indeed. I just don't see how these haven't sold out if they really are only $170. Probably meant $1700.

I never got an answer. I was told long ago there are several rules to follow when buying stuff. If you follow them you'll never go wrong:

                        1. Don't buy anything you haven't seen
                        2. Never pay for anything in advance and,
                        3. Don't believe everything the salesperson tells you.

You are probably supposed to pay the $170, then they tell you it was a pricing error, either pay the extra $1530 or get a refund ... which never happens.
