I'm having a really hard time reading it, but it seems to say BQ725 only.

    Thanks.

Give readings of volts on all pins of BQ725.

Re: Vaio VPCSB2M9E/PCG-41218M dead after drop

Couple things I should say before..
It's really hard measuring all pins isolated, maybe my multimeter tips are too big.. That say, might be some discrepancies in readings but I did my best.
Another odd thing I should mention is pins 1, 2 and 3 initially read 19V but it went to 0V for a couple of minutes, and then came back to 19V..

        1-19V
        2-19V
        3-19v
        4-24V
        5-0V
        6-2.6V
        7-1.4V
        8-1.5V
        9-0V
        10-0V
        11-1.6V
        12-1V
        13-1V
        14-0V
        15-0V
        16-6V
        17-5.6V
        18-1V
        19-1V
        20-19V

        Thanks.

Pin 5 should be high, although all conditions are met it is not. Try with a charged battery, and check if laptop powers up. If not, measure charger voltage on all pins again.

            Hey,

I had already tried to power on battery, but nothing.
Yesterday I also forgot to mention, these measurements were with board disconnected from main board. Do you want measurements with battery and mainboard connected, or with battery only is enough?

            Thanks.

Pin 5 is going High when power supply adapter is detected allowing 19v to the system. You should have 19V on two NPN fets near charger on source and drain pins and 24 volt on gate pins. If it is possible give the markings on those fets. Also 19v at the six pin connector to mainboard . Forgot to mention to retest for voltage on pin 5 with power suypply connected.
Read the voltages on charger pins with just the battery connected to check if charger is working.
I do not see any signals that may be needed from the mainboard for the charger to function properly, so do not connect the mainboard.

Battery connected, I still get 0V on pin 5. If I guessed right the NPN fets you mentioned are the ones marked green. All pins read 0V!

I've been searching like crazy for this board schematics but I can't find them anywhere.. I googled V030_MP_Docking_DB, CNX-458, nothing!
guruji from this forum claims to have the schematics but he hasn't shared them with anyone..

                  Thanks.
Pin 5 should be high only when adapter present. Pin 11 should be 6v (roughly) above the voltage on pin 12 when laptop works with battery. I need to see voltages on all pins of charger with only battery connected to determine if charger is working.
Which picture of the fets marked in green are you referring to?
Have you checked on the connector to mainboard if you have 19V?
I'll try to get the schematic for you. I do not like to ask for many favours because I might need them for me sometimes.

                    Sorry, forgot to upload photo.

                    Pin 5 reads 0V with/without adapter/battery present.
                    Pin 11/12 reads 0.2~1.5V, with/without adapter/battery present.

I see 19V on several pins to main board with adapter connected, but on battery all read 0V.

I'll do a quick read of all pins and post right back.

With battery connected, pin voltages match. I did noticed pins 1,2,3 go from 19V to 0V a lot, maybe caused by shorting pins while reading..

                      1-19V
                      2-19V
                      3-19v
                      4-24V
                      5-0V
                      6-2.6V
                      7-1.4V
                      8-1.5V
                      9-0V
                      10-0V
                      11-1.6V
                      12-1V
                      13-1V
                      14-0V
                      15-0V
                      16-6V
                      17-5.6V
                      18-1V
                      19-1V
                      20-19V

I forgot to ask (now that you have a regulated power supply) what are the amps drawn from laptop when you plug the adapter?

Unfortunately my regulated power supply isn't as stable as I'd wish.. But I'm guessing it's current isn't higher that my 5A adapter. 19V supply are steady and neither adapter or laptop shut down 19V supply.

Ok, my regulated power supply was supplying 0.06A with 19.5V disconnected from main board with battery connected. Same with main board connected.
As I guessed it's not draining too much current, which also means it's not charging battery.

You measure the current drawn from regulated power supply without pressing power button and without battery.

                                Without battery, same thing.

Regarding power button.. All these test are being made without 3rd logic board that connects to power button (see pic) and is attached to palm rest.

When I want to test power button I always put all boards back in place and connect all cables.

                                Thanks.

Sorry for not answering earlier but I was too busy today. I think you should change your charger.

Wow man! Thank you so much for the schematics!! Awesome!

I was getting myself prepared for replacing the charger. I have a BQ25A which according to aliexpress website is compatible.. Can I use BQ25A?

                                      Hi,

I'm having a hard time soldering BQ25A in perfect alignment. Pins 19 and 20 keep shorting with each other, already took it out and placed it 4 times.

                                      Any tips?

                                      Thanks.

Before you did all of this, did you check if pin1 of CN5 in power board had 19V? In my case I solved one by replacing the fuse in the powerboard near CN5.

                                            Hello,

                                            Board: LA-K491P REV A01

I have received this laptop which was described as "does not power on or accept charge." Battery shows no sign of charging when charger is plugged in, nor does the board show any signs of life when battery is unplugged and charger is plugged in. No light from the LED at all or any other indications of activity.

Board seems to have no shorts, all power rails are fine and show high resistance.

When charger is plugged in, voltage is present in 3.3V rail but absent in others....

how to prevent a connected charger from draining battery when not charging?
                                            by flat-earther
I have an RC radio handset(Taranis QX7) which doesn't have internal battery charger which means I had to remove the battery every time I needed to charge it.
So to improve it, I added a 15W USB-C charger board(link) inside and soldered it to the same connector on the PCB where the battery plugs into, great, now I can simply charge it with a USB-C cable.

but the problem I found is that after the radio sat for two weeks without being used the 2S 18650 battery that I'm using was at 4.2V!
So the battery is backfeeding the charger and being drained.

                                            How can I prevent...

The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
