Lenovo Legion no video after bios update nm-D563

    Hello
    Have this Lenovo Legion 7 16ACHg6 nm-D563 sn-PF38Y39W

It came after botched bios udate. been in one shop and i see flashed main bios. all power phases start ok

I flash main but still the same. SO i try to flash SIO with vertyanov programmer. reading ok, when erasing i get disconnect. after few try i get only disconnection when try to erase and when i try to read i have random read errors. is that ITE dead or i have some programmer problems?

    SIO is IT8227E-192 2116-CXA. can i replace it with ITE8227E-256 2017-BXA ?

When I had the same problem, then the problem was interference with the power outlet 230v. The pc I used was plugged ín to the same power outlet As the charger of the laptop I tryed tó reprogramm. That made the readings random.
Try using a surge protector or another outlet

Note the difference in suffix BXA & CXA and then the size 192KB /256KB. So very likely wont work.

On NM-D563, ITE ec will auto program if its blank.

Try this trick. Open the EC file in hex editor and select all and autofill it with zero. This way we're creating a blank ec file of 128KB. Now flash the EC with this file. this will make your EC blank.

99% chance your programmer will not give error when flashing blank ec file.

Now apply power and it should auto program itself on 1st boot.

This trick helped me on lots of ITE ec programming issues ending in errors and thus file not written correctly to EC leaving it neither properly flashed not blank.

Good luck and update this thread whether this helped you.

Good idea but be carefull, if there is interference like it was at my case, some bits Will be changed when the interference kick ín durring write process.
