Is the only way to resest/delete the BIOS passwort removing and reprogramming the bios chip? Or is there any other easier method?

Most Elitedesk models the BIOS IC is accessible when the bottom cover is removed. You need to use a suitable SOIC8 clip (like a Pomona 5250) in conjunction with a half decent programmer (I use a SVOD3) to do the dump.
Use RCUnlocker by Rhetorical Cheese to remove the password from the dump, and write it back. Then you just need to reset all security defaults to factory in BIOS setup.
I just did 11 x 430 G4's y'day without disassembly.Comment

WSON8 huh? Well can't use the clip then. The Elitebooks I've seen with that chip do have pads on the PCB that you can connect with pogo pins.
Don't know what the 640 G3 is like to pull apart, but some Elitebook models are a major PITA to pull apart just to do a BIOS IC. Any suggestions on a half decent Pogo pin clip?Comment

by YG007Hello... Where do I start. I have 2 questions/scenarios that might bring this laptop back to life, so here it goes!
I have this laptop (Asus UX52VS) where I was flashing the BIOS to it and it froze during the process. I didn't have a reliable BIOS chip programmer at the time (It was a CH341A USB Programmer from Amazon where it took hours just to get the clamp on the chip and then every time I read, it gave me different results/corruption, and never would pass the verify test as no 2 reads were the same data), so I brought it to a shop. They had it for almost 2 months, but during... -

by llek100Hello, sorry for the long post, I just wanted to include any details that might help.
A bit of backstory - I currently have 5 of these MiniPCs - I got them for very cheap from Ebay. All of these PCs are BIOS administrator password locked without their drives.
I also got a G3 large tower, that I could reset the password of fine just using a header and a button on the motherboard.
So I thought that I could do the same with the G4 MiniPCs, oh how wrong I was.
First of all, I stumbled upon a tutorial, that apparently showed a BIOS password reset procedure - where I basically...-
