Hi Guys, I have a Dell XPS 13” laptop that I'm trying to repair. If I look at the board with a thermal cam. The following component “3W=Q2W” which looks like a voltage regulator is getting very hot. So my question is. Can I swop it out with this one. “K2L31”? I can't seem to find any data sheets. Please see pics for reference. Thanks for any help or advice.

You should be able to source replacements from other vendors. Is a simple 3v3 LDO. Confirm the pinout and max current support against the original by Richtek.

Hi. No, the 2 parts are not the same.
The original component on the board is a 3v3 LDO which is capable of accepting a rather high voltage as the input and output the 3v3 voltage rail.
The component you have with the 'K2' prefix is a USB load switch which acts like a solid state relay. The reference datasheet for the 'K2' component is available here:

BV for XPS9360? Yes, have it but is marked as 'LA-D841P'. It was used to identify the PU202 component. Will post it in the schematic forum once at the office if still of interest. The LA-D841P BV file may already be available in the schematic forum.
