I've uploaded pdf with part of schematics from BQ and it does seem to be correct as PRB27 & PRB25 are 10Ohm, PRB19 is 0.01Ohm

Yeah, this was a shot into the blue. We have to start over for this new fault then. But maybe something odd at ACN/ACP then by any chance? Also it can be still another shorted Mosfet somewhere in the DC-IN circuit.Comment

Is pin # 5 (ACOK) @ ~3v3? If not, the +3VALW rail is too low and should be reviewed. If the charger IC receives a high enough voltage @ ACDET (must be 2v4 or higher), then ACOK will tri-state (hi-z / high impedance) this signal line. Then the external pull-up resistor and pull-up voltage (ALW rail) must be present to soft pull this floating signal line to a logic '1'. The earlier list of voltages lists ACOK as a too low of a voltage.Comment

Found out the problem, laptop work now on the battery, problem is with BATT_B/I does not go to 0V, while jumper is done on the battery connector to ground battery being charged, and laptop does work on battery & charger as well. Is that safe to leave it like that? If not, i can only suspect PQ201, i don't have replacement to test and i can't find it online.

by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell... -
by DenKDear all, I am trying to troubleshoot an Acer Aspire 5 A514-55 that won't power on. I'll describe the symptoms and my findings so far, and I would like to seek guidance and suggestions on possible suspects in terms of cause/component failure. My initial thoughts are battery charger IC and/or ideal diode/MOSFET (that switches between incoming DC and battery power), but I could be totally wrong on this.1) Laptop was working fine on battery, then user realised battery was running low. Plugged in AC adapter but noticed it was not charging (LED on AC adapter plug did not light). Eventually shut down...

by ahmarzoI have acer laptop tmx314-51 with part no 6050A3020501.
The laptop is working fine on adapter and battery is also charging and when adapter is disconnected in on state the laptop gives backup on battery and gives good backup.
But when laptop is powered on through battery only the laptop does not power on and there is 0 voltage on battery connector.
I have not not tried another battery as it is not available locally could this be a battery problem.have checked discharging mosfet and there is no shorting to ground on any pin of battery connector.
The schematic is not available... -
by titomno2Hi guys,
I currently trying to figure out why the laptop of my friend did not charge.
It is a Acer AN515-42 (Ryzen 5 2500U), I manage to make it works on AC and battery but no charging.
At first it was not working on Battery, I discovered that PQ201 was knocked off and replace it => work on battery precharged on another computer.
I also checked the small resistors between PQ312 and PQ201 and even if they are ugly values are OK.
My issue, when I plug the charger computer off, it drains 0.25A during few seconds with amber light on (charging) then amber light blinks...1 Photo -
I bought a Vostro 3400 motherboard (LA-K033P) to upgrade over my damaged Inspiron 5593 (LA-J091P) board. Everything else is ok except for the battery. This battery I am using now is already a replacement one since I disposed of the bloated original one. Back in the Inspiron 5593 motherboard, the battery charges fine and is identified just fine. However, with the upgraded motherboard, suddenly the replacement battery is labeled as "Not a dell battery". When I borrow a similar battery from my colleague (which did not have replacements yet), it is identified and charges just fine.
