    Alienware m5500i-r3 Overheating issue

ok all I am hoping someone has an idea I havn't thought of I have a client bring me a Alienware m5500i-r3 to fix and it needed a new motherboard so I replaced the motherboard since replacing the motherboard I can't get it to quit overheating. I replaced all the thermal compound with arcticsilver that didn't work I ordered cpu thermal compound pad thinking maybe I had somehow applied the arcticsilver wrong it still overheats the cpu fan seems to be running fine. any ideas would be great I really want to get their laptop back to them.

    Thanks,
    yonu

first but first ... update the profile plzz.
2nd. i rly hate those silicone sponge thermal conductivity i take them out and put copper shim insteed, i got a big plate that i cut off how much i need.
i`m already an expert on tunning hp dv6000 and dv9000 (my dv9000 stay between 46-56C )
try to look closer and see if the headsink rly push the thermal paste out when you put it back.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

ok well I am not so sure it is overheating i rechecked the heatsink and it is making contact with the cpu and gpu i used a ir thermometer and as far as I can tell at shut down the temp is right around 52c a bit higher than I like but not extreme. any other thoughts on what I may check would be great,

      Thanks,

        Re: Alienware m5500i-r3 Overheating issue

my friend got a alienware but when he plays games it reach 90 so i don`t think 52c its the problem.
check to see if memory and other components are cooled with the headsink.
        remove everything and double check
Just cook it! It's already broken.

Dell Latitude 3510 Overheating & Fan Control Issue – Need Help
                by Ven
Dell Latitude 3510 (Intel Core i7-10510U) CPU Overheating

                Issue Description:
                1. CPU Overheating to 100°C
                  • When I start the laptop from a cold state, it takes about a minute to reach temps around 80-90-100°C, and CPU thermal throttling triggers.
                  • When the CPU fan is running at full speed (by disconnecting PWM and TACH cables), CPU temperature stays around 50-60°C.
                  • However, when the fan is connected normally to the motherboard, it does not kick in at high temperatures.
                  • I also noticed a few times that the fan kicked in for a very short time, but it does not stay on consistently.

Alienware 15 R2 Service Tag: DL7NN32 ISSUE (Battery is not charging)
                by Simone Vergani
                Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with my Alienware 15 R2 (Service Tag: DL7NN32). The laptop works perfectly when connected to the AC adapter — it powers on and functions normally. However, the battery does not charge. If I disconnect the DC adapter, the laptop shuts down immediately, as the battery is at 0%. I have replaced the battery with a new compatible one, but the issue persists. I also replaced the AC adapter with a compatible one, but the battery still doesn't charge.

To assist with troubleshooting, I'm attaching two power circuit schematics:

Alienware Area-51 R2 Boot Loop issue.
                by abajor
I have the above mentioned Alien Ware A51 R2, currently it randomly will boot into the OS but more often than not it boot loops, I'm assuming there's an issue with power regulation somewhere.
It comes with Dual 180 Watt Dell PSU, which is ironic since the thing claims it requires 420 watts in the bios screen.

To rule out the power bricks I've attempted to power up the Laptop with a 330W and 240W Dell PSU at the same time, it still has the same boot loop issue so the problem is definitely the laptop.

Right now I'm trying to dig through the PDF schematics and Board...

                Alienware 15 r2 error 4 beeps code.ram issue
                by armands0212@gmail.com
Hi all.i have problem with my alienware 15 r2.basically its keep beeping 4 times at startup-what means there is ram issue.i already tried 10 different ram sticks with different speeds and voltages but nothing helps.tried to flash bios to see if that will help-but no luck.
Ram sockets looks fine as well, cleaned them and carefully inspected

So maybe someone had this problem as well with any of dell laptops and have some ideas what else i can do?

                Thanks

                by Bupi452
                Hi, everybody
Yesterday I was about to re-paste my laptop, when during the disassembly I noticed that the DC cable from DC plug to the mainboard looked discolored and after a bit of prying I found out why...
I am looking for the socket on the mainboard does anyone have an idea where I could get one? I have already looked in the board drawing and found out the manufacturer (ACES_50493-01301-P01) but it does not seem to be available for purchase...
does anyone an idea where I could get one?
                PS
The cable has a part number and can be bought on EBAY but I did not find...
