Abbreviations

Hi, i am new to laptop mobo repairing .. have an old laptop board which i am using for my learning and want to learn some abbreviations
i understand Q is for transistors but on this board i have PQ and there is 3 leg transistor and then there is PQ with 6 leg chip both abbreviated with PQ and then i have 6 leg PU and 6 leg U

as i got was U# stands for IC , PU# if i am not wrong become power ic ???
PQ becomes Power transistor ???
U# only becomes IC

please advise thanks.

Hi all! For Learnix, Q = Transistor or Mosfet (All type) with 8, 6, 4, 3 Legs(Pins).
The letter P befor the components it's reference to this component is connected on line to the CPU (Processor).
Some MOBO with the surperfoce is divided in more area withe Capital Letter (A, B, C...ecc) for identifc where the component position and use retangolar with the same letter for identificare all components in this area and there simpoles, athers use only stright line for connect the area to it's components.see this image of MOBO It's can help you to understand all.

You con allways refering to Schematics for identific the component value, Model and the line connection.
If there is wrong someone can Correct this information.

Hi All! sorry for the late reply! Yes i have some helpful guides , but i should do translation from others languages to English, but not exactly about how to understand or read schematics, they are about how you can identific the Laptop problems (basic line).
To understand schematics, you should know the basic information at electronic disegn as how you can read the page of disegn, follow certain line in athers pages of schematics, it's very important the Block diagram (The 1° page) there are the informations abuot the important IC's (type, model, name and them functions), and the page of the power sequency, as you should know the basic information of electronics relations and connections, how you can use the multimeter.
Then you can read any schematics and apply.
When you can't understand any thing you can ask on the forum , they are the professional technician, I'm sure of that you will get the right answer of your question.
However as soon as possible i will reply the guide at the thread.

Thanks again , so nice of you , is there any tip in the mean time to understand the input and output are there any such symbols ? that can identify inputs and outputs that's all will help.
