    Sony MBX-168 motherboard

Anyone got the schematic for this?

Got a non powerer coming soon, it's the size of only a few DDR2 DIMM slots so will hopefully be dead easy to work with.

    Cheers!

Lol just got this board, not a single PCB marking on it. This is going to be a fun one.

It's about the size of the palm of my hand roughly, so it's presumably a space saving measure.

yes it is, i'm also searching bom file and board view.

didn't think of board view, cheers man!

So far found short on positive side of 330uF CPU caps but I can't see where they link to. Also connector was damaged, I think for external USB board, and shorted. Removed it with pliers to remove the short because it was FUBAR.

Got a problem, it seems to be a different rev to the schematic. The schematic, although the same model number, is completely different.

Soldered a DC jack on. +19v in present, very stable +1.36v and +1.05v present around the board. Some 0.11v voltages present. I'm guessing there's a short on DCBATOUT somewhere.

MAX8765E (battery charge IC) has +19v in, and looks like it's giving out +5v, and 1.35v on a pair of MOSFETs. No other DC-DC stepdown ICs appear to be receiving or giving out voltage.

Shorts on 2xVishay 7114 MOSFETs, the two in chain before it appear not to be. So maybe it's one of these.

Okay so ACOK is present on the charging chip but DC-DC stepdown and CPU voltage regulators aren't putting anything out. Could this be solely caused by the fault on the CPU line or is there a problem even earlier in the line?

                    Re: Sony MBX-168 motherboard

Update on this board, I found a shorted component behind the CPU, what looked like a ceramic cap but with 3 contacts (inductor of some sort?). Short was gone. Readded everything and now the short is back even though I tested everything I removed, so I can't be bothered with it anymore.
