    acer 5742 no power

    mosfet 4407 next to power plug was getting hot so i changed it now not getting hot but laptop will not show any signs of life .
    I have no memory or battery to test but if i press pwer switch no lights nothing .
    no schematic either to look at

    pin 7 on switch socket is showing 16volts and if i press the button pin 7&8 short so button is working maybe i just need a ram chip to know if its working

      is it fixed now? have you checked is it working with battery?
