No offense intended but being a new member with both your topics pertaining to getting into 2 different password protected laptops that you suggest you own, seems VERY suspicious. If these really are yours and not stolen, I suggest in the future that you use a password you'll remember and keep a backup record.

Yes i can understand your concern and im not offended, the DELL is my wifes work laptop she is the one who locked it and couldnt remember the password and is too embarrassed to go to her IT department for them to fix it, i said i would try and get it done, the Asus i bought from ebay 1 week ago, it came with everything charger, software and reciept which im trying to fix for my son, hence its just out of warranty which i stated in my post. I hope this clears things up i didnt mean to cause any trouble that is not my intention regards Michael

If you have the receipt you can contact asus for the password.
Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!

Sorry but it may only be that no one knows. Look at it the other way around, if we do not question the source and situation with laptops, we could be enabling thieves. What if someone stole your laptop, which is presumably the reason you set a password... would you want us to help the thief get past it?

Question about recovering Asus bios password
                      by Spakye
Hello, this is my first post on the forum, my apologies if i don't post in the right place.
Im trying to recover an asus bios password using this method.
I follow every step and it seems to work out well because i get a password but sadly the password doesn't work.
In my case, there is 2 times the same string that perfectly match the decyption hex, so my guess was that there is an user & an admin password and they are the same.
                      This is the string "0993C72677BA5C4DF3E012744407E89A0A2E8EC1E95444E89F7BFA0E55A2B0350BC9665CC1EF1C83".

                      I would really...

                      Hello,

I'm hoping someone can assist me.
I have an Asus Vivobook 16x Pro OLED laptop which has a BIOS password, and I can't seem to find it.
It still boots into Windows (boots from whatever SSD is installed but not from USB).

The model number is M7600R and serial number is N8N0CX03H71131C.

I tried AMITSESetup Decryptor but the password I got doesn't make sense (it's got a line break and special characters).
I also tried to use *************** MOD EDIT ,redacted************** and it also gave me the funny password of

                      Hello All,

I have the aforementioned laptop that I just purchased on ebay that was listed as having a BIOS password. Sure enough, on boot it requests a password. Here's the troubleshooting steps I've tried.

                      1. just entering a blank password as I've seen where if it's an admin password instead of a user password, I can enter the BIOS as user and still enter Windows. I still receive Invalid Password, I'm assuming this means it's actually a user password or both user and admin password.

                      2. I've removed both the main battery and CMOS battery, disconnected...
