What do you guys think of this one?

    It's a Gateway 6020GZ:

    http://tucson.craigslist.org/sys/3113109374.html

If this site is correct, it's only single core, 512 MB ram,
    and 60Gig HD:

    http://www.uberbargain.com/archives/...way_6020gz.php

So even fully functional, I expect to only get about $40-70
    out of it.

Probably not worth the effort to fix it, but I just wanted to know
if the light blue stripe on the screen might be just the connector
is loose? Or perhaps the cable is bad? If it's the motherboard,
    the thing is practically worthless.

And do you think the no-sound issue might be an easy fix?

    Thanks for the input.....

The blue line I would think is the screen,
The sound could be one of lots of things, are the drivers loaded?
In the UK the cost of a new screen would be more than the laptops worth, so unless you find a cheap s/h one, yes it's practically worthless.

      HP 250 G9 - short circuit 100%

      Good morning guys.
I made a mess. I opened the new laptop, replaced the NVMe SSD, and closed it. When I plugged in the power cord, I saw the orange LED glow dimly several times, so I immediately unplugged it. I could also hear a strange buzzing sound coming from the laptop. Then I opened it again, and only later noticed that underneath the SSD was an aluminum plate that touched practically all the underlying components... what a disaster. I still don't understand how I didn't notice. Anyway...

I thought, okay, I'll just remove the plate and go. But now the power LED won't even...

      by vikivng
This is an lcd display used on ebikes.
long story short, there was condensation inside the unit.
I opened it and thoroughly cleaned the pcb with isopryl.
The board had no visible corosion.
It powered on fine and was tested for an hour or so.
However when connected to the bike,,it did not power on at all.
I took it home and reopened it to take a look. There are no shorts based on MY testing.
However,,when I probe the transistor and the mosfet gate in diode mode or contuinity mode, (one probe on transistor collector and one probe on mosfet gate}the unit...

Which software do you guys have the best of luck with for recovering corrupt photos?
      by AJ847.63e
      Hi All,

My WD external drive I used to use for my backups recently decided to go belly up on me so I've been playing around with different bits of software to try see if I can recover it and just wanted to get some advise on which programs you guys have the most success with.

Yes I've cloned the drive and no I'm not paying a grand to take it to a professional. If I can get some stuff back great, which I have, but there's still quite a lot I haven't. It's not worth taking to a professional though it's only my programming courses and vacation stuff so it's a nice to...
