MBPro 13 Logic Board A1278 doesn't charge the battery

    Hi all,

    I just buy a MBP 13 on ebay for my kid (MBPro 13 2.4 GHz Logic Board P8600 820-2879-B A1278, EMC:2351).
He is in perfect condition but the battery doesn't charge.
Magsafe led is always green. I buy a new battery on ebay but it's the same. When I removed magsafe it automatically turns off.

On the motherboard pins near the battery connector, I have 11,55 volts between pin 1,2,3 & 7,8,9 and 3,41 between 1 and 4 or 1 and 6 (with battery and with or without magsafe plugged in). I also have 3,41 on G3h.

The magsafe is working fine on another MBP.

I read a lot on this forum but I'm lost because of too lot information.

Is someone can help me ?

    Thanks for any info.

    Regards

    First, the schematic.

When you boot into the OS, does it detect the battery? If it does, you may want to check Q7055 (SI7137DP) which should be somewhere near the battery connector --- just follow the trace.

I don't know what you mean by "I also have 3,41 on G3h".

troubleshooting microsoft surface pro 4 no power no led charge light
      by ipatch
hello, i have been sitting on some microsoft surface pro 4 tablets for a while now. i was originally tasked with replacing the battery in one of the tablets, and ended breaking the screen and logic board in the process. decided to buy another tablet with the same specs. got that screen off successfully of the second tablet. the logic board appeared good, but i guess i shorted something out in the installation process of the logic which i've read is a common issue if there is no barrier between the logic board and battery pins. all that said, i ate costs of the repair and have...

Acer a515-43 low battery charge voltage
      by ruletero
      Hi

      Acer A515-43
      LA-H801P

Fail: Does not charge battery, has low voltaje on connector.

Laptop didn't want to turn on, only charge led blinked.

I found PQB5 (mosfet high battery charger) in short, voltaje in +12.6V_BATT was 19 v ...

I changed it, changed PQB6 too and now battery charger voltage is 4.4V but battery is 3 cell, 11.25v, then is very low to charging.

Laptop turns on without battery and works fine, but with battery turns on and turns off inmediately, I suspect battery bad but I don't know...

Charge a L19D3PDA battery externally from the laptop
      by Klevjetack
Is there a way to externally charge a L19D3PDA battery from the laptop. I have a broken charging port on my laptop and am trying to find a way to charge the battery for it. I have been doing some research and I have found that there is a module, TP4056, that can be used to charge Li-ion batteries. It says it is used to charge single cell Li-ion batteries. The L19D3PDA battery is a three cell battery. Is it possible to use the module to charge my battery and it would just be very slow? Or would that be a bad idea. Is there a different kind of module I can use to charge my Li-ion three cell battery?...

Macbook Pro A1278 intermittent orange charge light
      by tccyo22
Hi there, I've got a Macbook Pro A1278 board code 820-2936-B in which I have a very strange charging issue.

Backstory is when I plugged the charger in, it would give a green light and swap to orange like normal but after a few seconds would go off to no light, laptop still powered on and functioned fine.

So naturally I replaced the ISL chip first which made no difference so I also removed and reballed the SMC. This seemed to fix the issue for about an hour until I was back to square one again.

Decided to then take an SMC from another board, reball that...

How can I charge that battery pack?
      by razenxd
      Hello,
it's not a laptop/desktop related question but I figured that someone here will have the right knowledge.
At work we use a few Aldebaran(now Softbank/United Robotics group) Nao Robots which they use some custom 6S li-on battery packs.
Nao robots tends to draw from the battery even if they are shut down, and the BMS tends to be a little aggresive, if the pack stays on a turned off robot for 3 months it's gonna lock and will refuse to charge.

Now, I have noticed a few things.
The "dead" battery, while connected to charger and NOT Charging will...
