    What is this fan conenctor?

A guy wants me to make fan regulation circuit between his motherboard (where is automatic regulation, but very strict to 60 °C so it does weird and noisy stuff) and fan.

I can find some circuit and make it, that is not a problem, problem is with the connectors. There is the small 3 pin which we al know I guess, I just don't know how this type is called or marked to find it in store. Anybody knows?

The middle wire can be either a tachometer, signaling the fans rpm back to the motherboard or a potentiometer of sorts, controlling the fan speed directly - or a hybrid of the two. Either way, you won't be using this in your circuit - just use the 5v red wire and black ground and adjust the fan speed by varying the voltage. I'd love to see the final product here and how exactly you plan on implementing it (integrated, external, temp controller or manually adjusted).

edit: I just realize you were probably just asking where to find the connector itself. My bad. You're probably better off just clipping one off another laptop fan from a junk board - the 3 pin ones are fairly standard.

errr nevermind didnt look too well at them pics why not try either molex or jst 3 pin female on google and see where that gets you I'm leaning twards jst but not sure may even be NEP but either way I've bought them before they are out there I seen a few on ebay technically your best bet would be to use a junk laptop fan if you need the male end as well it does not have to be the same on both ends just get whats cheap you could even solder in the male header in place of what is there if you need them both to match. This is a rather odd request but I've been in your shoes before and they do sell them... Just been some time and don't remember who makes the thing...

              What model is it?

You could try finding a schematic for it or a very similar model, they often have the exact part numbers of connectors and such.

If I just had an idea Coud try to ask…

Anyway, found the same conenctor on ASUS V7700 Pro graphics.

Any luck? Just find the same connector in other laptop, I think it is pretty common stuff.

I desodlered in from one old VGA, but I lost somewhere in this mess
