    Re: HDD password

What hdd is it? I had couple days ago one seagate hdd that was locked and I didn't managed to unlock it. there are couple of free programs that should do something depends on how it is locked. also there is one program that it isn't free but 100% sucessful, hdd unlocker I think.

You must have some tools for this.
And it depends on the brand.

I could do it too you if you want.

              Re: HDD password

What are you trying to do with this hard-drive?

              What kind of password?

Is it Encrypted or is the drive locked?

              If it's locked,
              You try Ultimate Boot CD.

              http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html

              Go TO HDD > DIAGNOSTICS > HDAT2 Ver. 3.5 > ENTER

Once loaded at the prompt, type hdat2 then select the drive and go to security, from there you should be able to unlock the drive.

If it's the filesystem that's encrypted, then there's not anything I can do or recommend since it depends on the encryption type.

If you're trying to remove the bios password just go to BIOS > CMOSWIPE on the bottom of the list of the UBCD. It should clear most CMOS settings, including time.

                      by Nopslide
Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....

Locked Setup Fails to Unlock with Correct Password - Inspiron 11 3185
                      by Modify_inc
I have a Inspiron 11 3185, and in the BIOS setup under Security it shows "Locked Setup", which limits pretty much everything in the BIOS. I'm using bios-pw.org to generate the codes for the hash, but they never work for the Locked Setup password. The codes generated for the System password and the HDD password work fine, but the code for the Locked Setup password always fails. I don't understand, if it works for the first two, why is it not working for the Locked Setup p/w? Since I can't disable it, anytime I reboot, even after a Windows update, I have to go through the hassle of generating...
