I got similar problem, the only clue is TPS51125 is getting very hot and I checked the mosfets around the TPS51125 none of them shorted however I read 19 volt on 2 mosfets. I hope nothing else has not burned. I will be appreciate if anyone will provide schematic of Dell inspiron n5030. Many Thanks!

I also had a similar problem, I am working on dell N4030. like IC RT8205 / tps 51 125 or damaged nuvoton SIO probably. I'll try to replace it. sorry for my english

Hi all!
I have the same problem as ayahali has. I replaced the two mosfets 4407a from the power supply(not sure if they were burnt but i replaced them anyway) and now that TPS51125 is burnin hot.
I want to say that the motherboard charges the battery but it won`t start.

Hello,
I have the same problem with my dell n5030. I changed the t51125a because it was became too hot with only the charhger connected and I found that the usb's pins Vcc, data +, data- and the ground are in short circuit between them and every pin with the ground. I desolder the power mosfet(u6301) of the usb port and check it. On the board it has short circuit between Vcc pin and ground. Out of the board the mosfet has no short circuit. Without the power mosfet the usb pins has the short circuit. Also I checked all the capacitor and diodes via 5volt voltage and ground, outside of the board and none of the them are faulty, but between 5volt and ground I have short circuit. Also with the charger connected on the board I measure the 5volt pin of the usb via ground and it has 0.22volt. Has anyone has any idea or found a solution on the n5030 no power problem?

That's just the input reverse-polarity-protection diode.

It getting hot only shows there is a short somewhere.

Thereis a short current flowing through it. The only possible current may be when power supply inverted. If it wasn't repaired or had cut wire the only reason is bad diode. Remove it or change with another good one. A short somewhere also possible.

Blown cap is near LAN jack, maybe lightning or high voltage was applied to a LAN wire?

I have same problem on Dell N4030 discrete. TPS51125 is getting very hot, haven't tried checking usb ports yet. I know there is short but don't know where, possible on +pwr_src rail? fets around this IC is ok no short. I'm also trying to look for the schematic of the daughterboard because I cannot seem to find it one the schematic. Dell M5030 and N4030 main voltage is the same.

I have a dell n5030 that originally wouldnt charge, I replaced battery and same problem, I didnt even get a charging light I was only getting 3.3v on 2 pins, I replaced the 3 fets closets to the battery terminal and I started to get 3.3v on 3 different pins then 19.3v from 2 other pins on the terminals aswell wen i tried the battery the light may come on for a couple seconds then the laptop chips out, I assume that voltage is too high, could I get some assistance?
