Acer aspire 5334 stuck on start

Hi again. I got aspire 5334 with starting problem, it just stuck on start, if I push F2 to go on bios settings nothing happend.

Maybe is I/0 chip ?

Any idea what can cause this error ?

Have you tried removing the hard drive?

Yes I remove HDD, replace RAM with 100% working, no diference at all.

What are you trying to do - eventually?

If you dont press anything does it continue and boot from the hard drive?

i have the same problem too , when you press the f2 to go to setup is not responding too . any solution pls

I got the same issue, if I pres F2 nothing happen and I wait one hour or more.

Is complete no possible to get in BIOS or if do not touch anything to star up windows.

It just stuck there.

Hi - If it has already been set up it may be that when the start up screen comes on you press F12 to change the boot sequence and may be
something at the bottom of that menu to get into the bios?

That is why I asked what are you trying to do -but you did not answer.

Try to disconect laptop keyboard, and put usb keyboard. Maybe some key is stuck. It happend to me more then once.

I thought of suggesting that but it does seem to recognise the F2 keypress
as it changes to "please wait."

If you take all the ram out does it start differently perhaps with an error message?

Have you tried a bootable cd or bootable memory stick instead of the hard drive.

Did the hard drive work ok -(boot to Windows) in another machine

Hi. I try with diferent 100% working memory RAM, no changes
take apart complete laptop desolder CMOS battery, HDD, keyboard and use USB keyboard, no changes.
I try hard reset pusk ON button 30 sec. without any battery or power suorce then connect on charger , no chenges

I spot only strange heating of intel I/O chip app. 60-70°C meantime processor and Nvidia graphic chip got app. 40°C

I think is that I/O chip got bad connections with mboard and need reball, similar thing I see on many HP nx8220 with "insert smart card into reader" issue

Hi. I reball Intel AF82801IBM chip, but no changes, Im not shure is chip OK or BAD.

Is possible to defected bios ?

And now before I order new chip again ask for help, is anyone experienced with this laptop or problem ?

Hi. I try but I do not have bootable USB key, all tools like make usb bootable not work.

I use FAT formated USB key, and put on FLASHIT.EXE, PAWF5104.BAT, PAWF5104.fd (bios files for DOS, from acer site) but nothing happend. Maybe is USB cause this, because is not bootable ?

Update. I make botable USB and try first on other laptop if work, and boot just fine. Then I try on this aspire 5334 and nothing, I hold ESC and FN then turn ON with hold ESC-FN about 7 sec, no changes. Has anyone idea where on board is BIOS chip ? Maybe if I desloder and solder back will help ?

It's a small 8-pin chip that should be near the keyboard controller (ENE KB926).

The '5334 should be a Compal LA-4854P/PAWF6 (which shares the same motherboard as the eMachines E525 and a few others), there is a schematic for that here:

Hi. Like I promise I share News from this case. I order new (with new bios) bios chip from ebay, and when I change chip on this board, the board work just fine.

in the end, my suspicion was confirmed. tomorow morning (now is 22:07 west europe time) I will send a video to prof my story.
