    SATA mobo input

So I bought a laptop that has a broken SATA input on the motherboard. does anyone know where you can find just the inputs? The rest of the motherboard is good, so it would be a waste of a perfectly good board, if I can't find it.

Please see the attached photo. This is to a Acer Aspire 5733 series laptop. I have no other information on it because the entire plastic piece is missing as you can clearly see.

Thank you in advanced for any help you are willing to provide!

Maybe you can buy a broken motherboard off eBay and just take off the part?

if all else fails you can always replace the dvd unit with a SATA Hard Drive Caddy to Optical CD/DVD Bay Adapter, and boot the laptop from there..

I guess I could try to find one on eBay, I just didn't want to spend the money on a broken board when I'm sure the part is only a couple of dollars, if that. I was hopping to come across a website or something that would sell these type of parts.

          See http://search.digikey.com/us/en/cat/...?k=sata%20plug

Try sorting by "surface mount, right angle" or something like that...

          maybe this?

Thanks Mariushm! This is going to be quite the battle trying to figure out which one it is seeing I have no markings on it to kind of go off. There is a nut and bolt on either side of it, and I will have to verify this but it does look like it's not surface mounted. I didn't know what to check on digikey, so I didn't even think of going over to their site. But thank you for the information. I will look into it a little more and try to narrow down my options with them. Wish me luck!

When in doubt, check a schematic...

              I can't find the 5733's but I found a 5737z which uses an OCTEK SAT-22SU1G.

Does that look like the right one?
