what values do i need to check on mosfet datasheets to check for alternatives if the original part number is not available?am i right to assume if the alternative has the same internal diagram as the original then it will be ok? there are things listed on datasheets like thermal resistance etc....does everything have to match? thanks.

A lot of people go by the voltage, current and Rds(on) values. As you have probably guessed, there's more to it that meets the eye.
There are several ways you can approach this:
1) Go to digikey.com and enter "mosfet" in the search window. Select FET-single. You can enter the parameters of the original mosfet and their database will search for an equivalent. This is very time consuming with no guarantee of a match.
2) Go to websites like like Fairchild Semiconductor or International Rectifier and try out their semiconductor cross-reference search. The thinking been done for you and all you have to do enter the original part number.
3) If the above fails, try contacting technical support of the original manufacturer or Fairchild, IR, etc. for help in selecting a substitute. Be sure you send a copy of the spec sheet of the mosfet in question when you submit your request. -

I've had good luck matching 2 specific values. These are the safe reverse voltage rating, and the safe forward current rating. Usually the data sheets will also indicate switching application and a forward resistance value for a saturated device. Watch for devices that contain internal protection diodes and go with a similar substitute.Is it plugged in?Comment

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.
Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)

Hey all!
I need some help identifying the original model of the caps you could see on the pictures below. These all are from a Gamecube and should be replaced as a precaution/repair of the disc drive not reading discs. I know the voltages and capacities are easy to get from most of them, but since I do want to get some high quality replacement parts, I need the ESR or ripple current too to find some equivalent replacements.
I also added a picture of an Excel sheet I made with the designators and the diameters of the caps.

Hello everyone, I recently found this badcaps site and super Learn Electronics Repair youtube channel. And I wanted to learn how to troubleshoot power supplies and VGA cards and how to practice soldering, since I already have a properly defective piece of them. I am performing a repair on a Sony ICF-SW55, which includes recapping (some) of the SMD capacitors on the mainboard. I am looking for verification of their values. At the moment, I'm 95% sure I've got the right values, but it is hard to find some official, credible or multiple independant sources on this.

I have a Razer laptop (RZ09 MB# CH570_MB_NT) that has a shorted mosfet marked BND M03 E067 that I'm unable to find anywhere online. Does anyone either know what the part number is for this mosfet or have a schematic I can find it in?
Backstory on the whole thing the laptop was plugged into a lamp at a hotel. The lamp got unplugged while it was charging and now the system won't power on anymore. I found the caps around this mosfet shorted and when I injected voltage into the caps the mosfet got hot and my bench psu was pulling 5A. Pretty sure this is all that's wrong with the laptop...
