    survived 2 cycles...

the capacity is now shown as 97.5%... so 2.5% wear...

    looks good to me...

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to change the cells as opposed to buying an entire (and every expensive) battery unit? I've seen people do it, it's not that hard, but it could potentially be dangerous if your wiring is off...

You might as well open up your old battery and try to rebuild it.

ummm... I already bought the battery... besides, I wanted 9 cells, not 6 cells (the old battery was a 6 cell).

Besides, without special reflashing HW/SW, rebuilding is pointless; the battery controller has to be reset so it shows the battery levels correctly.

Another brief update- after 4 cycles, the cpacity has risen to 98.7%, or 2.3% wear. I am getting run times around 4 hours per charge.

IDK about others, but I think I got a good deal...

            final update:

it has settled at 94.8% capacity, or 5.2% wear.

It gets about 4 hour run times under normal use... granted I do like to use a USB flexlight at night and durign the day I tend to be an LCD brightness hog when sun glare is an issue... but then again, when there is no wifi aces the BT and WLAN get turned off (I tether to my cell phone via usb instead).

Modification of a Fluke multi meter that uses three AA batteries to use a 14500 lithium ion battery
                by sam_sam_sam
I have had with regular AA batteries that leak this meter is expensive new I already replaced the battery battery clips once and the same thing happened again and I am tried of so it is getting modified to accommodate lithium ion batteries that are the same size excluding the positive terminal and removing the battery clips I will have enough room for the BMS protection board

I going to put 3 lithium ion battery in parallel with the BMS protection board and a way to charge the battery externally and heat shrink the battery pack and use a JST connector so I easily remove the battery...

Adding a clock battery to action camera to retain date&time when changing batteries Campark X25
                by flat-earther
I have a cheap action camera with an annoying trait, every time I change batteries the date & time gets reset and I have to set it again.

To solve this problem I want to add a small internal battery inside it which will keep supplying power to the camera for a while while I change batteries so the date & time is retained.

I have opened the camera and I think there is enough room to add something inside to accomplish this:

The camera is powered by a 3.7V nominal single cell lithium ion battery.
So I need to connect another battery in...

ASUS X571 no power : battery issue?
                by mkdj
                Hello everyone,

                Mark and model: ASUS X571
Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.

                Tests already made:
                - Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.
                - I have removed...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Unknown transformer : how to find a good replacement part ?
                by the_rem
                Hello guys,

I would like a quite old but still good 800 W ATX PSU to be repaired. The problem was an extremely heavy coil whine coming from the small secondary transfomer on the PCB.

I desoldered it hoping the references on the upper side would allow me to find a adequate replacement part. Sadly the written references drove me nowhere but to the manufacturer (I-MAG). I sent them a message like a bottle in the see asking them to send me a datasheet of the transformer. And... They responded ! I received a kind of datasheet (see attachment) but my competencies do not allow...
