They asked me to change the HDD to an SSD on this Asus laptop, in case the laptop already had problems such as it not turning on every time and the battery charge lasting very little.
and perform the task successfully and clone the data from the hdd to the new ssd
I managed to start windows on the ssd and everything was normal so I decided to restart it to measure the startup speed and when I did that instead of starting windows the laptop sent me to the bios
I exited the bios to continue to windows but when the laptop turned off it did not turn on again, it was strange but it was obvious that it was not the fault of the new ssd and that something else was happening
I assumed it was the battery but after some tests I saw that the problem was something else.
When I pressed the power button, nothing happened, the only thing that gave a sign of life was the indicator lights.
The power light (the one with a bulb) remained static white and the battery light flashed white.
After a long investigation I discovered that the light pattern on Asus laptops meant that the bios was corrupt so I got a ch341a programmer to flash the most recent bios from the Asus website, I did the procedure and when I pressed the button When it was turned on, the only sign of ignition was again the indicator lights, but this time only the battery light stayed on, statically and white.
I couldn't find a solution to this and I searched everywhere, the only thing I couldn't try was to reset the cmos battery since the laptop didn't have one, so I saw that the laptops that didn't have a cmos battery have some jumpers that make it a bridge. The bios would reset but I couldn't find the jumper and I tried to find a schematic for that exact model (which is X456UA) that wasn't under a paywall but I couldn't find it.
So my last resort was to go to a technical service store and ask since there they would have more knowledge than what I have and what they came to was that the bios chip was damaged and that it had to be replaced, I can't do that. since I don't have the necessary tools and that's why I'm making this thread to see if there is anything else I can do on my own and try before taking it to technical service.
I hope you can help me and I would appreciate it very much
