Is this trace damage repairable ??

    Hello,

I fried the CPU by mistake, every coils around it was shorted ! So I decided to remove it, I did a good job except when I cleaned the CPU traces, one lifted up !!

In the picture you can easily see it, is it repairable ?? It is ground.

To the right, you can also see some solder mask got removed, is this a problem ??

Would you throw away that motherboard ??

    Thank you !

The pads where solder masks has come off are connected together and it does happens while cleaning. Not a cause of concern. You can use a solder mask there for safety. The trace which seems damaged is connected to the nearby point which is somehow still there. Check whether the damaged trace is GND. If so, you can go ahead.Else you need to rebuild that track and thats a very very hard job.

      Hello,

It is indeed GND, so I don't need to rebuilt that trace! Good to know.

      Thanks !
