MacBook Pro 16” M2 Max help

Board needed a cleaning and it turns on, saw some corrosion and took pics. However we were able to get the computer to turn on, now after turning it off, it is in a power on off cycle at 20.5Volts

Disconnected the battery for 1 minute it turns on again then repeats. Sometimes it doesn't. Trying to recover data on this computer so it's not to important to fix this computer but get it on just enough to recover the data, however this has been a terrible computer because when we even get to the desktop lol we can't use the touchpad or keyboard because they don't work due to the water damage the customer did. Had it on display externally as well becuase the display would turn off and on for 5 seconds but then turn on again with power button so there are a lot more issues. However we are stuck at the board on at 20.5V 0.00 amps, even when we disconnect the battery it does the same thing. So now stuck here confused.

Update: disconnected the LCD cables and reconnected power and now it’s copying data. Odd.

check the hinge angle sensor for corrosion ...it will cause some of those symptoms

flickering screen / black screen / keyboard not working etc.

Awe! This makes sense, I have all these issues with that, that was my first thought something is off with the angle sensor. Thanks man!

          Update:

Looked at angle sensor, coffee spills and residue all over the sensor. Cleaned it up with 99.9 alcohol and it started working again and keyboard etc worked etc. then it went out so yes you’re correct it is the sensor. Going to throw it in ultrasonic cleaner, thanks again for this new knowledge you’re a life saver, the customer is going to be so happy!

Update: ughhhh yet something new now arises.

When we plug up her 140w brick with the MagSafe it doesn’t turn on. The 96w turns her computer on normally without issue, but the 140w brick forces the MagSafe light to go orange, green then blinks orange green. Then once we plug the 96 back it repeats. When we disconnect the battery for 5 mins fully then use the 96w it is happy and doesn’t have an issue turning on, but the moment we try using her original 140w brick (M2 Max) it doesn’t want to turn on then repeats the blinking lights cycle. Thoughts?

Hmm, so tried the 96w and it turned on. Unplugged the Battery flex cable to fasten screws down, plug it back in plug up meter, 20.5V 0.00 amps and turns off and repeat. Disconnect power for 10 mins plug it in turns on. Any idea what this is?
