I HAVE PURCHASED tsb4227 128gb i think this chip will work perfectlyLeave a comment:

No, you cannot install nands that are of a different model than the ones native to the board. You will need to check and confirm the part-numbers of the nands on the 01700 board, then source those. They must be compatible with the controller in the T2.Leave a comment:

i have iphone 11 128gb tbs 3234 can i changed with (hynix hn3t0ba 128gb this chip was in m1 a2337 ) or toshiba (kic5224 256 gb this chip was in m2 a2681) and how to check genaration nand chipLeave a comment:

Yes if you have a full proper set for the board you're installing on, and you write the correct dump to each nand and place properly, yes it will work. But you MUST confirm the same generation-nand chips between each device. Compare part numbers and go from there.Leave a comment:

Re: MacBook Pro 16" 2019 NAND Swap
It's almost criminal. The lengths that Apple goes to to prevent repairs and upgrades is not widely known amongst their user base. It makes a joke of any attempt by them to say they are environmentally friendly.
At least with a dead system on a PC, we can remove the SSD and recover the data. Yet the iSheep keep buying Apple's crap which is built to fail from the factory.Leave a comment:

Re: MacBook Pro 16" 2019 NAND Swap
Thanks for the help, and hopefully with combined efforts and knowledge we can keep these devices working way longer than Apple had ever intended. It seems they've built in planned obsolescence by using a striped RAID 0 to make their computers faster.Leave a comment:

Thanks. Yes, this is the go to video for NAND swap prep. I was hoping someone had attempted this with what I had on hand.Leave a comment:

Covers it all pretty well. Apple have it all covered.
Each set has firmware for the specific brand of NAND striped across them, hence why they need to be replaced in the same order when transplanted. If they are from a T1 system (and assuming that there is a firmware set for that NAND type for a T2), I'm pretty sure you need to put in that firmware first via external programmer. The T1 systems just treat the SSD like a regular one, as opposed to the T2 which are completely different.Leave a comment:

MacBook Pro 16" 2019 NAND Swap
I couldn't find a post related to this, so if it exists please point me in that direction.
I have a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" 1TB with a dead embedded NAND. I've seen some information about how it is possible to swap NANDS from certain boards, but it has to be a matching set.
I have a MacBook Pro 2017 logic board 820-00923-A 1TB on hand that is new in the box. It should be possible to match up the NAND 0, 1, 2, 3 chips and transplant them onto this 2019 board... in theory. Has anyone approached this, or has success in doing this?
Thanks for your consideration and help!

by tech_guruHello. If you could please help me understand what I am doing wrong...
This model, Macbook Pro 2019 16" A2141, 512GB, EMC 3347, with T2 Security Chip, had 4 NAND Chips shorted in 1 wing (U9100, U9200, U9300, U9400) and it has 1 more in the 2nd wing (U8600) BUT NOT shorted. All chips are TSB4227 TOSHIBA-KIOXIA SN4192TWNA12014 BGA110 128GB. I got 4 new nand chips for 1 wing and programmed them by specific position of course with JCID P13 programmer.
I also replaced the tps power ic for the ssd.
Now all rails come up, including the ssd rails 0.9v, 1.8v, 2.5v.... -

Ok, here's an issue ive got on a A2141 820-01700 MBP 16' 2019. No signs of life, 5.06v 0.0a on usb-c meter, on each 4 usb-c ports.
Nand voltages are missing.
I've found no shorts at all so far, no signs of heat via thermal camera either.

by kuba2102Hello people. I have undertaken an upgrade from 256GB to 512GB. I have another A2681 board that I sourced NANDs, resistors and capacitors from. Yet when I try to restore the firmware in FDU mode I get the error 0x23 (35) (error formatting the NAND). Could it be the faulty NAND or I have missed something? Thank you...07-03-2025, 12:20 PM
