HP 14-bp151sa Screen Turn Off Issue

I have an HP 14-bp151sa running Windows 10 which has a very strange fault. It works absolutely perfectly until the screen sleep timer expires and Windows turns the screen off (it correctly follows the delay set in Windows for this). After that, neither the keyboard, trackpad or USB mouse will turn the screen back on, meaning that the computer is effectively hung. The caps lock button doesn't light when pressed, although I can still hear the fan running normally. A long press on the power switch to force a power down is the only way to get the system working again.

    Things I have already tried:
    - Updating to the latest BIOS
    - Resetting the BIOS to default values
    - A fresh install of Windows 10 (plus full updates)
    - Checking for driver issues - there are none
    - Checking that the keyboard and mouse drivers are set to 'Allow this device to wake the computer'

    What could I be missing?

OK, I managed to find an identical system running Windows 11 and swapped the discs over. The previously faulty system is now fine, and the Windows 11 system - which was OK - is now exhibiting exactly the same fault! So it looks like a software issue, but using Windows 11 is an acceptable workaround.
