I've got a old Toshiba Tecra A8 here which refused to boot. Plugging in the charger and turning it on would just blink the charge light on the front of the laptop. Swapped out the RAM and managed to get it to boot but now it seems the RTC battery is dead. It's not using a normal 3.2V CR2023 though, it's using a rechargeable nickel metal hydride battery which I've never encountered before. as a rtc laptop battery And unfortunately, the only writing on it is GDM710000041. Googling that brings up a few replacements, but they seem to be for other Tecras, not the A8 so I'm not sure if there the correct ones or not. They all say 2.4V but that is what this ones reading adding further to my suspicion that this shouldn't be 2.4V
Does anyone know what voltage the RTC Battery for the Tecra A8 should be? Are RTC batteries from other tecra lines like the A11 or the protege R200 cross compatible?
