    hp victus 15 with no power problem

    assalam alaikom every one
    i have hp victus 15 with no power problem i see that there is a hot temperature at rw=9d
    also there is a short with 3 capacitor behind him
    can any one help me please

    Hello. Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode.

    Check the resistance to ground of each capacitor in this area. If the resistance is too low, cap or some part on this rail is shorted. This can cause the ic to heat up.

    Do you also see the cap heating up?

    As a quick test, you can flux and remove the shorted cap. Keep note of the cap and it's location.

    The regulator is from Richtek.

        So far, unable to locate this regulator or more details with the 'RW=' markings by Richtek.

        Also cannot find this logic board in my database.

        Post more pics of this area of the logic board. Is this part on the main logic board? Any silk screened parts in this area?

        Often, the logic boards will be similar to others from the same vendor so that can be used to locate the component details.

              Agree, cannot be found easily.


              Good luck solving the problem here.
              I don't have a good hunch about the outcome though.
              Shorted 3.3V = more problems (most of the times).
              You know what I mean.
