    Razer Blade 15” Advanced (2021) | RZ09-0409x / Won't run on battery.

The laptop runs perfectly fine on the AC adapter but won't run on the battery. Precise symptoms:

    1. When attempting to turn the machine ON with AC adapter unplugged laptop would fire up (fan spin, keyboard backlight, green led) to a black screen and turn off after about 30 sec. The laptop does react to holding the power button and it turns off after 10 sec of holding the button.

    2. Once running off AC adapter and logged in to Windows, when I remove the AC adapter from the charging port laptop would continue to run for another 40 sec and then switch off suddenly. During these 40 secs, I would notice Windows freezing and running slowly. The system interrupts process would occupy a significant amount of available computing power. Most of the time battery icon in the tray fails to switch into battery mode (so AC plug icon is visible in the Windows system tray despite the AC adapter being unplugged).

    3. After rebooting back to Windows (on AC adapter plugged in) Event Viewer would report the following error seconds before the sudden shutdown: "The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware(..)"

What has been done so far to resolve the problem:

    1. I have programmed a clean ME Region BIOS in version 1.09. No fix.
    2. I have programmed fresh EC BIOS (8mb). No fix.
    3. Tried on a different battery. No fix.
    4. I have found one 2R2 resistor around AC Power MOSFETs measuring 100k. Replaced. No fix.

    What my plans are:

    1. Replace the power management chip: ISL95520AHRZ.
    2. If the above does not help I think the last suspect would be the KBC/EC chip IT8320VG.

    My questions:

    1. Do you think anything else except for the ISL95520AHRZ or IT8320VG could be causing the issue?

    2. If it comes to replacing IT8320VG - does it need to be programmed? There is an 8 MB EC bios chip on the board so my guess is the EC chip code is stored outside of the EC chip itself.

    3. If it comes to replacing IT8320VG - I have only found replacements available on aliexpress and ebay, all from China. How trustworthy these chips are? I am worrying that the current working(or at least partially working) EC chip could die completely during desoldering and then I would struggle to find a working replacement.

    Thank you.

Hello, I bought a Razer blade 15 advanced with I7-9750h and RTX 2080 without Display. Seller said it works with external display. It arrived and I connected it to my Samsung TV. It gave me an external Pic with windows 11 start screen. But I had no Windows account so I removed the SSD and installed it in my other laptop to install windows 10. put it back in the Razer but from this time I never got an external pic. Can anybody help me to get back an external pic?
BTW: I‘m sure the LCD-cable is bricked and not the LCD itself.

The laptop I am working on is RAZER BLADE 15 , RZ09-0369, the motherboard is DA560 VER 4.0. The original fault was it powered up with keyboard rgb on and no video on screen/hdmi. I found corrosion on memory module that leaked onto the memory socket. I cleaned the memory socket and was able to boot normal with other memory socket with good memory. I really should have stopped at this point as everything was working except for the one bad memory slot.

I wanted to find out what was wrong with the other memory slot. I replaced a 330uf cap, a buck converter on back of board and when i...

Razer Blade 15 Gaming Advanced RZ09-0421 Laptop - No Display, External Screen Only
      by sikocan
      Hello Colleagues,

I'm dealing with a perplexing issue on a client's laptop and would appreciate your insights. The user experienced a sudden screen blackout during regular use (not gaming), although the laptop continued to operate normally otherwise, with music playing and indicator lights active. An external display connected via HDMI works fine, indicating the display itself is functional. The device manager shows the Intel XE GPU as disabled, with Windows reporting a related error, while the NVIDIA RTX GPU operates without issues, even supporting gaming.

      Upon inspection,...
