    programming kbc msi ms-17f21

    hello, i have this laptop msi with motherboard ms 17f21, i need to program kbc because i replace the pch , now the laptop power but no display , i only have the programmer rt809f , after looking information on the forum i think this is the pinout to connect it to my programmer on the connector of the keyboard on the motherboard, can someone told me if am i correct? this is the schematic attached and the pinout that i think is correct

    kso3 gnd pin 23
    Ksi4=cs pin 14
    ksi5=clk pin 13
    ksi6=din(miso) pin 12
    ksi7=do(mosi) pin 11

    if this is correct, do i need to conect the ac adapter of the laptop to the motherboard for the kbc can be programed? thanks

    Re: programming kbc msi ms-17f21

    Why would you need to reprogram the EC after a PCH replacement? If it's powering on, that seems to indicate your EC is working fine. If you want to go ahead and reprogram, then yes the board needs to be powered via adaptor to supply 3.3V to the EC during programming. Pinouts are correct for a ENE EC.

    Where did you source your replacement PCH from? If you are certain this is working (and lets face it, if you got it from China then it's highly suspect), then you are supposed to clean your BIOS ME region. That shouldn't prevent a successful boot though, just much slower.

      Hi reformatt thanks for answer , the laptop came with no power at all , after i checked, i detect a short on coil of 3.3v , after that i inject 1v on that coil and pch get hot immediatly and i bought a replacement from china , after i replace pch now the motherboard turns on but with no display , i checked that the motherboard has 3.3v, 5v , 1.2v and the voltages of cpu and GPU, thats why i think i ned to reprogram kbc

        I personally wouldn't trust any PCH or CPU from China. Typically removed from non-functioning boards. Sorin did a video on this recently. He subsequently bought a PCH from a vendor in Germany at twice the price. This was new and worked. The first from China was faulty and he got a refund.

        Feel free to re-program your EC though for the sake of exercise. My money is you got a reballed 2nd hand PCH off a faulty board. Removal methods that they use are highly questionable too.

              Dell Inspiron 7501 / Vostro 7500 (2020) - eDP connector pinout/panel compatibility question
              by pickledegg
              Hello. I have an Inspiron 7501 here, it's the same as a Vostro 7500 in some markets (no clue). I was looking to replace the LCD, the panels included with these models are terrible.

              I have the schematic and it is a 4 lane eDP port on the board but the pinout seems quite weird, my question is if anyone recognises this weird pinout and knows of any other Dell models that may use it or even any compatible panel models. I have the 40-40pin cable that was used for the models with touch but do not need touch capability, was just looking for a better quality screen and higher refresh to actually...

              I tried with schematic of clevo(linked by @smdflea in another thread) and manual tracing on this mb between sio and kbd connector pins and think this should work but still not sure.

              Programming KBC IT8987VG ASUS TUF FX506L RT809F+PEB
              by araxnido
              Dear friends, I want to share my experience repairing an ASUS TUF FX506L gaming laptop motherboard: DABKXDMB8E0_F_BKXD. Boardview and schematic are available, as well as the BIOS and ITE ROM.

              When the customer brought in this laptop, it was initially dead; it showed no signs of booting for any reason. After hours of measurements, checking each stage, MOSFET, and seeing if there was a short circuit in any capacitor, I discovered a strange 0.7V leakage voltage on the 3V_S5 rail, particularly on the PL9 coil, with the board not powered on. There were 3V_LDO and 5V_LDO voltages, which...

              EVGA 430W PSU Correct voltages but computer won't turn on
              by objecttothis
              I had a desktop form factor mini-server die on me a few weeks ago. Through my initial diagnostics, I was convinced it was the motherboard because when I shorted the Green wire on the ATX connecter, the multimeter gave me all the correct voltages on the various pins of the ATX connector and 5VSTB was also correct. To my surprise the replacement motherboard wouldn't turn on with the case power button either. I threw in another PSU and it turned on right away. This is an 80 Plus EVGA 430W PSU with PN:100-W1-0430. I pulled the cover off and don't see any immediately obvious blown caps or scorch...

              Korg Kross2 Service Manual and LCD pinout
              by maleksa
              The LCD on my Korg KROSS2 keyboard is cracked and needs to be replaced.

              However, the cost of a replacement LCD is almost the same as the price of a second hand Korg KROSS!

              Does anyone have a copy of Korg KROSS2 Service Manual? I want to see the PINOUT for the LCD connection. Perhaps I can find a compatible LCD screen and not have to spend a fortune on an original replacement LCD.

              From what I can gather, the LCD screen is a COG with serial interface (SPI). Is there any way I can ascertain (perhaps with the use of a multimeter or oscilloscope) the PINOUT by...
