    A2141 MacBook Pro 16 820-01700 SSD Error

    Hi all,
I have one SSD side of the motherboard (U9100, U9200, U9300, U9400) which is dead.
In fact, the 1v8 SSD and 2.5 SDD was short.
Is this possible to replace these NAND ?
I heard about encrypted NAND with the T2
It's seems to not boot even if these is no remaining short on the motherboard

My understanding is that the NAND's are striped and partitioned with setup data during production by Apple. Production tools which of course not made publicly available. Swapping these out with blank ones from the OEM won't work.

So at this stage, your have to swap them all from a donor board, and in the same order. Since the other partitions are encrypted by the T2, this means you have to also put in DFU and revive the device to wipe and re-encrypt the NAND's.

I could however see how someone could take them off a donor board, image each one, and copy to a replacement blank set. Haven't heard of anyone doing that, but it's probably being done by someone but being kept a state secret.
