Hi, the OEM battery stopped working, so i bought an aftermarket replacement, but the laptop doesn't reconise it, says 0% in windows. laptop flashes orange charge light. I have tried 2 different brands and still the same. I borrowed another OEM battery and it worked fine, so i don't think its the motherboard. Struggling to find an OEM battery for it. any suggestions to try?

Re: Asus zenbook duo UX481F wont recognise aftermarket batteries.
Post or link the schematic/board view file for this logic board.
Remove all power and the battery.
Meter in diode mode.
Red meter probe, yes red to ground.
Black meter probe to the the first battery connector pin.
Note down the measurement. Repeat for each of the battery connector pins on the logic board.
Post each measurement. We are testing to see if you have a defective ESD tvs diode onboard that may block the smbus communication lines that are used to detect the presence of the battery.
Be sure there is no power to the logic board during these tests. -
Re: Asus zenbook duo UX481F wont recognise aftermarket batteries.
I got.
1. Red 1.79vdc
2. Red 1.79vdc
3. Red 1.79vdc
4. White 0.79vdc
5. Yellow 0.79vdc
6. Black 0vdc
7. Black 0vdc
8. Black 0vdc
I suspect the battery is locked out as I have 0vdc between red and black on connector. But why would the aftermarket batteries have 15vdc and still not work?

by carrzkissHello, all.
Cyberpower Battery Backup Unit.
I bought two new ML18-12 batteries through Amazon (They have already refunded my money for the two batteries as we thought the batteries might have been bad.)
When I got them in, they were not fully charged. I connected them to the UPS and waited 24 hours before connecting any networking equipment.
In parallel, they read 24v, but within 24 hours, the meter on the front of the unit dropped from 4 to 3 bars on the battery charge indicator.
Checking the voltage, it was down to 22v.
I quickly removed everything... -
by corrizeHello, when a laptop try to start with « all system power good » signal ok, and shut down, that could be a bios issue pls ?
And there is a way to see in the bios file if the program is corrupted ?
If it is relevant, could you provide the bios file for the Asus Zenbook DUO UX481F i7-10510U - 16Go with Nvidia MX250 2Go
Motherboard : UX481FL Rev 2.0
If I have to desolder the chip, I will post the bios file here.
I add : someone requested bios file here, and don't know if I can use this file ?

by YetiHi,
I bought a zenbook that has a bios password, cant go into recovery. so i have used a programmer to get the bios from the chip. winbond 25Q128JVPQ. I thought i could flash a new bios image onto it but it seems like the file is too big and needs to be edited. i have opened both bios files in UEFItool but could not work out how to do it. after spending hours searching i need help!
i have attached the original and newest bios from asus for this laptop.
cheers....-

by AstonishedHi friends of electronics
What you see in the video and pictures attached is the circuit for charging the batteries of a DC motor.
The problem is that this circuit cannot charge the batteries (3 1800mAH NiMH batteries) any more. When the circuit was OK, its green LEDs lit up one at a time to show that the batteries have charged more. But now that the circuit is flawed, LEDs light up as you see in the video and at the same time successive beeps are heard.
Please help me fix this circuit.
