Hi Volinakis,
Thank you so much for you help. After much swearing and re flashing I finally got your modded one to work. I ended up using Neo programmer to flash it as it has the correct chip number supported. Cheers for your time and effort for helping me.

Thanks for that. When connecting the ch341A programmer and using Asprogrammer software I couldbt find the exact model of the chip (W25Q128JVPQ) It could detect the chip and I could read and write to it using the W25Q128FVxx. It did boot up and could briefly get into the bios before it stated to boot loop, getting shorter and shorter before restarting. Not sure if I've stuffed something trying to solder wires onto the pads .. any suggestions?...

Re: Asus zenbook duo UX481F wont recognise aftermarket batteries.
I got.
1. Red 1.79vdc
2. Red 1.79vdc
3. Red 1.79vdc
4. White 0.79vdc
5. Yellow 0.79vdc
6. Black 0vdc
7. Black 0vdc
8. Black 0vdc
I suspect the battery is locked out as I have 0vdc between red and black on connector. But why would the aftermarket batteries have 15vdc and still not work?
Cheers

Asus zenbook duo UX481F wont recognise aftermarket batteries.
Hi, the OEM battery stopped working, so i bought an aftermarket replacement, but the laptop doesn't reconise it, says 0% in windows. laptop flashes orange charge light. I have tried 2 different brands and still the same. I borrowed another OEM battery and it worked fine, so i don't think its the motherboard. Struggling to find an OEM battery for it. any suggestions to try?

Asus zenbook duo UX481F
Hi,
I bought a zenbook that has a bios password, cant go into recovery. so i have used a programmer to get the bios from the chip. winbond 25Q128JVPQ. I thought i could flash a new bios image onto it but it seems like the file is too big and needs to be edited. i have opened both bios files in UEFItool but could not work out how to do it. after spending hours searching i need help!
i have attached the original and newest bios from asus for this laptop.
cheers....
