			by grimacelordHello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...-

As per the the rules, here are the specifications of my laptop :- Make and model number : Thinkpad T440P
- Serial number (S/N) : PB-03A7V7
- Model type - Model (MTM) : 20AW-S2N800
- Bios version : 2.50 (not 100% sure, that's what I remember)
 - Upgrade screen, keyboard, trackpad, RAM and CPU
- Reboot and use the laptop for a bit : everything is working fine
- Shutdown (no power) and upgrade WIFI with unsupported chip (AX210)
- Boot up the device : bios warning, as expected
- Shutdown the device again (no power)

by GuaculoHi, i got a Lenovo Yoga 11e that had a bad motherboard. I purchased a replacement motherboard but its a model variation from the original.

Now the new motherboard wont boot with the OEM wifi card. On the lenovo page it says the new motherboard needs a N-7260 wifi card, and the one i have its a AC-7260.

I swapped the 2 bios chip from the old mobo (U40 and U38) to the new one in hopes i could get the wifi card to run, but it wont work, even the serial number stays the same as the new motherboard (the laptop runs fine only this 2 issues).

 Is this information...

			by macabookHello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
🧩 Initial Issue- Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
- External display (HDMI) shows
